I have always enjoyed Rasho's game. He's not athletic at all but he is a big body that really clogs up the lane on defense.

He also does a lot of little things that a lot of people don't see. He sets some pretty hard screens down low for Bosh and really protects him when he is driving to the basket.

rasho should spend a lot of time trying to develop bargs.. same with chris, it wouldn't hurt to teach bargs a drop step or two

I don't know. In the playoffs Rasho usually gets diminished time no matter what team he's on. I don't think he'll get much time in the playoffs unless Kris and Bargs are both struggling mightily.

Rasho would get playing time against teams with a big low post presence. He will get minutes against teams like Cleveland, Orlando, New York and even Washington.

I remember in the Boston game when they had a 3 on 1 and Rasho was the only guy back. He basically duped Rondo into a TO though, by head faking towards one man and then sticking his hand out towards the other deflecting the ball to Bosh or someone.

It's those type of savvy plays that make Rasho who he is.

I've greatly enjoyed that we've been using him over Humphries lately.

He'll be valuable in the playoffs, but alot of his PT then will be a result of matchups.

I think that Jose and Parker also have very strong b-ball IQ's. They would rank 1-2-3 on the roster (in some order) IMO.

That said, trading Rasho is still likely the right move for this franchise come summer. He's getting up in years and far from irreplaceable at this stage.

Although offensively he's limited, but he's not forcing anything
And of course, his tap-back boards

His salary might be too high (around 8 mil per)
But I wouldnt mind bringing him back after his contract expires, for a lesser cost of course, and assuming his skills didnt decline too much

He is one of the worst deals in the league. Ask yourself if he is worth $8m. He may do little things like block out, or tap back rebounds, but he can't catch passes, misses the gimme points, he has slow feet, his blocking is nearly non-existent, and the worse part is that the guy cannot rebound. Wouldn't any of you rather have Matt Bonner than this cap-eater? At least Bonner can hit from outside and mix it up a bit. Rasho is just not necessary in the East where there aren't many bigs.

I would be much happier seeing Rasho bang away with a player like Dwight then watch Bargnani gets pushed around. Rasho might not be the fastest player in the league, but he's exactly what we needed at the time and we still need him for the same reason.

We have plenty of other guys to shoot the ball like Bonner can. What we need is a down low presence.

I agree he gets paid a lot, but he's on the back end of his contract and his salary isn't hurting us right now. His expiring deal in the future could become very help full too.

If the Raptors traded Rasho for Bonner right now the team would be much worse off. You think rebounding is weak now? Rasho gives us interior defense that we don't get from any other player on the roster. He is very valuable, especially against opposing bigs, and should be getting more minutes.

I love Rasho, but he pretty much cost us Darko/Varejao who would have been better long term solutions if we didn't add Rasho's fairly large contract to the roster. That being said, he's a valuable veteran who played a big role in helping our roster grow and mature IMO. He doesn't get the playing time he deserves, but hopefully he proves his worth come playoff time. He's always helped mightily against Dwight. Might come in real handy come playoff time.

Rasho has been a good addition, an underrated one at that since we got rid of a cancer like Eric Williams for him despite Rasho's inflated contract. Wouldn't mind bringing him back on a reasonable contract once his contract is up.
