I run a pickup game every week and have collected surplus monies from the group. I have never owned a decent ball myself and some of the balls brought in by the group are either old with no grip (probably used outdoors) or just not that great.
Can any one suggest a ball for indoor use and where to get the ball from in the GTA as well as the price? Thanks.

I'd go with the leather type ball that is used in the NBA.
I'm from Newfoundland so I can't really help you on where to find one in the GTA.
I know online at NBA.com they sell for 99, but you can get the same ones here for $60-70.

Wow, didn't know you could get official game balls for $60-70. I always see them selling for over $100 here in Toronto.

GO to National Sports they always have deals......
My suggestion is to get the spalding tf-1000. It's around $ 80.00 but is the best indoor ball. The official game balls tend to wear out way to quickly and are over $100.00.
Get the spalding tf-1000 for indoor ball, they also have a nice wilson ball simialr in price and quality to the tf-1000 but I cant recall the name of it right now.

I actually played with the ball for brief period of time and it was HORRIBLE !!!
I backed the NBA players 110% when they wanted to get rid of that thing.

The TF-1000 is a great ball for the price, even at $80. The Wilson Evolution is also a good ball and is around $50 at National Sports.

What are you basing this on? Have you personally used one and limited it to indoor use? I'm just curious.
US store, women's ball.
Edit: The Wilson Evolution is indeed a very good indoor ball. Great grip.

The Men's Ball looks quite nice. Good price too. I'll have to look at one in person

Yes I have used it, got one for like $30.00 when "the sports authority" stores closed down back in 2000. It was good for about 6 months (playing once a week) and wore down super quick. It had ZERO grip left.
The Spalding tf-1000 still has lots of grip left and has been going strong for a year and a half now.
Check the internet for sites that grade sports products (ie balls, bats, gloves etc.) the game ball wears out too quick. Its a known fact.

I'll take your word for it. Thanks for that info. No wonder the NBA goes through so many balls...

Dont get me wrong it was the BEST ball to play with. It just has ZERO life span. (Probably because it was 100% leather). The cheaper basketballs, even though they say "all leather" have a litte bit of something else thrown in that makes make them last longer.

My buddy has one of these. It's hard as frigging rock.
Needless to say, we never used it during games.
