Saw this on the general board.
Chris Webber's unlikely but fast-moving return to the Golden State Warriors is on course to be completed by Tuesday, according to sources close to the negotiations.
Barring an unexpected change of heart, sources said, Webber will accept the invitation from former coach Don Nelson and former teammate Chris Mullin to come back to the team with whom he won NBA Rookie of the Year honors in 1994, only for Webber to force a trade to Washington some six months later when his prickly relationship with Nelson collapsed.

Can Webber eve run? The Warriors style of play doesn't suit him. This'll be interesting.

The best CWEBB highlight was when he was with GState and he did the behind the back dribble and dunked on Sir Charles, and then he had the smug look on his face........Damn Good times !!

I'm glad he'll be out West. I know he's only half the player he used to be, but he's still on of the best players ever of the last few years.

Offensively this is gonna help them big time. Gives them a scoring threat inside.

I had totally forgotten Webber ever played for the GSW! He'll be useful for them if they have to play a bigger lineup against SA or whoever. He's still very skilled, and would be OK in limited minutes.
On a related note, Biedrins sounded a little peeved that they are signing another big man to eat his minutes. It would be a huge overstatement to say that he is going to want out or be a cancer or whatever...but it got me thinking about pairing him with Bosh. That would be an interesting combo...a bit skinny but both are great rebounders.

dang we honestly should have gotten this guy and waived Garbo. But I doubt BC would have done it, he seems to be only going after foreigners.

Chris Webber going to GState makes no sense whatsoever. Their styles completely clash. If it was the C Web of 5-6 years ago, G State would immediately become a serious serious contender in the West. With his knees the way there are now, C Webber going to Golden State is a huge mistake, and definitly doesn't make the Warriors western conference contenders. Book it.

Agreed.
Webber is best in a set system with a good x and o offence, in the half court, espeically at this age, with cutters and back door passes, like under Adelman.. or even in Detroit.
GS is run and gun and athletic and small ball and fast paced and high energy and shoot the ball when the defence is not set, up tempo team.. dont get it..
But Nelson is smarter than I am... Maybe Webber is strictly brought in for defence when you need him during a playoff run?

If he gets any minutes, he will take away Biedrins minutes at center.

Webber can help that team a whole lot if he still remembers how to pass and run the floor.

My first thought as well. I like the idea of him playing with Baron and Biedrins though. His passing will be an asset. And it's a very interesting come back story. I just dont see how he can keep up.

I don't think they are bringing Webber in to run and gun, I have a feeling he'll be used to go up against the bigger C's in the league on teams that play a half court game.
Warriors don't have very many big body's and he'll help a lot if they make the playoffs.
