May 2002:
He's a lawyer, not a GM. You can't spend $250 million on contracts and not make the playoffs. Vince Carter's mom runs that team. She's the GM.
Oakley on Toronto GM Glen Grunwald.
April 2002:
"You got to know when enough's enough. You want to rob the bank, but you better not be complainin when you get caught. In my day, a guy who jumps that high with that many tatoos, he would've wound up sitting on the floor at least once. It's just the kind of player (Martin) is. And the kind of guy I am."
Oakley, on Kenyon Martin and his flagrant foul reputation.
March 2002:
"I'm cool with whatever. I'll just keep eating my bread, sipping my soup and serving my time. But the chicken is going to lay some more eggs one day."
Oak, on being benched in favor of teenagers.
January 2001:
"Hey, the Leafs lost four in a row to bad teams (before last night). We've lost just one. There's no need to panic."
-Oakley, on losing to the lowly Atlanta Hawks.
February 2001:
"It was like the police trying to stop a shootout: You gotta have your gun out. Don't go out there with your hands down."
-Oakley, on Jeff Van Gundy getting headbutted while trying to stop Marcus Camby from suckerpunching Danny Ferry.

“He dressed like a Temptation or a Four Top. He wasn’t afraid of color or anything. He could wear any style of leather or suit and pull it off, shoes on up.” -Kevin Willis commenting on Charles Oakley's sartorial excellence.

Oakley, hands down. He was a really smart dude... didn't think of it much at the time I heard some of his quotes with the media, but was clever with the analogies and metaphors.
Smitch is cool too... he's definitely more light-hearted and doesn't say anything controversial. He has fun with the media... plays them the way they play him. But he's not clever... sometimes he just seems to ramble on with something. He would make a good joke or have the right idea about it, but then ruin it by saying it improperly or talking too much. Sometimes he gets ticked off by things that arent that annoying.

My personal favourite [off the top of my head]:
pimpin' ain't easy, pimpin' ain't dead, the ho's are just scared.
Oak on God know's what.

i think mitchell is terrible with the media. he reacts as if every question asked is the stupidest question ever posed. i mean don't get me wrong, the reporters that cover the raps are idiots for the most part, but he goes out of the way to disregard questions. enough rolling the eyes, just answer the damn question sam. truth is, i think it's just the canadian media that he treats that way. i'd love to see him try that **** with the tnt crew...

Oak and Smitch's quotes, while very entertaining, are different.
Oak is more philosopic, answers more in metaphors, and makes you think more about his answers. You wouldn't know if his answer was dissing you or not, or if it even answered your question. Like somebody already wrote, people were just scared to ask what he means, he smooth but can hurt you physically.
Smitch is very straightforward, tell it as it is. He's more playful with reporters, but you'd know if you've asked a stupid question, to Smitch mind anyway, even before he answers it. He's more emo with how he answers questions, and is not shy at giving insults whenever he sees fit. He's rough but can hurt you emotionally.

Oak.
Oak likes the media, he doesn't shy away from any mics. He would talk all day long if he's allowed to. A lot of what he said doesn't make any sense, but it's damn entertaining.
Sam doesn't like the media all that much, especially since they asked the same question over and over again. So he would have some fun with them if he is in a good mood, but otherwise well, you know the drill.

I agree. All-time I would have to put:
1. Jalen
2. Smitch
3. Oakley

Smitch is downright cranky at times and, while it can be entertaining, I'm not sure how entertained the person on the receiving end of his comments is.
Rose had some classics (I seem to recall something he said about Lebron?) and Oak often had me wondering what on earth he was saying. (something about bringing eggs to a picnic one time?)
edit: found the Rose one on Lebron
"Like I told the guys earlier, once he turns 21 and is able to drink, it's over."
-- Jalen Rose after LeBron James scored 56 on the Raptors
