Last thread got locked, so let's try to keep it clean here. Maybe mods can edit or delete offending posts if for some reason this thread gets out of hand, because I think it's important to talk about this, since this is the first feature article on a Raptor (non-NBA preview issue) in the actual SI magazine since an article on Antonio Davis back in 2002, I think. Should also quiet some of the people who seem to have a massive inferiority complex with major American media.

You can also find this in the February 4th issue of SI, which should be on newststands Thursday, I think.

For those who want to read the article.

I think Bosh is really starting to push his own brand. Say what you want about the video but the man is doing an excellent job getting himself out there.

By reading the article you see that Chris Bosh dosent fit the image of a NBA superstar people most commonly think of. However i cant help but wonder that the image hes putting across right now is exactly what Stern and the league is looking for. I think with a strong marketing team and a deep playoff push Bosh will have a huge name in the NBA. The NBA will build him up as the next "nice guy" who wins. Think about it, Duncan is getting older, who better to take over.

And finally, the raptors marketing in terms of the WWW and on tv is really lacking in my opinion. Look at what the blue jays did, their marketing campaign was the talk everywhere you went. I think the raptors really have to step their game up in that aspect if they want to win some more fans over.

"Already a formidable post presence when he arrived in Toronto as the fourth pick in the 2003 draft, the athletic, agile and impossibly long Bosh has added a feathery jump shot to his repertoire."

:nonono:

How do major publications allow stuff like this to be printed, I ask you?

When Bosh came into the league, he was primarily a jump shooter with a few face-up moves. He had NO POST MOVES at all.

I attended his first Summer League in Long Beach. I chatted with his mother with he hit 17 foot jumper after 17 foot jumper.

Otherwise a very interesting article, but I hate sloppy crap like this.

yep, he might need a job later on....

why would a smart guy with millions want a degree?

He's not going to work a 9 to 5 job, nor does he need a degree to learn about something (since he is smart, nothing prevents him to learn without getting a degree).

degrees are for most of us grunts, to either find out what we want in life or give us the tools to do what we want. When you have the means and ideas, degrees seem to be a waste a time - if you don't believe me, ask Bill Gates, Dell, etc...

sorry to get off the subject, just had to get it off my chest...
