Time to change starting five

It is obvious now that this starting five does not work. Bargs struggle is really painful to watch. The guy cannot hit a lake. Moon is so offensively challenged that the teams leave him open daring him to shoot. If Bosh settles for outsides shots here is a model for a five to ten deficit in each first and third quarter. Raso and Delfino (Kapono) have to start so we can get at least some rebounding not losing anything on offensive end.

I am so disappointed with the way they played tonight. What is the progress of the team which allows after solid games to have stinkers like tonight or the other night in Philly.

i wouldn't mind rasho, but kapono CANNOT create a tad for himself, whether if its off a dribble or just in general.. the only time he's effective is if we find him wide open spot up.. and for delfino.. he's great but just doesn't have the energy and hype to start off a game.. and his constant pickin up of fouls would just slow down the game negatively

I don't think taking Andrea out of the starting 5 is the solution. We tried Rasho as a starter for a good portion of the year, we had even worse starts with him.

The crap on the bench (like baston) will be better than the crap in the starting lineup (like Bargs)...

give me a break...the roster is mediocre and thats why this is a 500 team. substituting crap for crap doesnt accomplish anything. These short term fixes mask the team's real problem-->we only have 3 NBA quality starters on this team-- 2PGs and 1 PF

No need to panic. Anthony Parker is never going to shoot as bad as he did tonight. Andrea needs to develop so he's going to be in the lineup. The only move you can make is Moon for Delfino but then we have no offense coming off the bench. The starting lineup is fine.

Are you for real?!?

Raps are on a run of 7-3 and you guys complain and want a new startup 5?

Chicken little, the sky is not falling!!!
Raps lost a game, big deal, it is not unusual to lose a game every once in a while....

calm down....

bosh is starting

bargs needs to start...his shot isnt falling, but hes slowly improving...*very slowly*

AP is off and on, but we have no one better...delfino is even more inconsistant than him

Moon is a good defender..and he hasnt done naything that bad to lose his job

and cleary were not starting dixon/fino/martin at point

Raptors went 11-7 with Rasho in the starting line up.

I would like Delfino to get a shot at starting a couple of games.

No point pulling Bargs.

I agree I don't like the mix but I mean we're kind of locked. Can't wait to get TJ back ..... Kapono is useless without him. Anyone remember the last time Kapono came to a running stop and jacked a 3 on a fast break?

Subbing Delfino for Moon just makes our 2nd unit even more useless.

I dont really see how we can change the starting line-up.
We have been playing well....just lost 1 game...
We beat the celtics with our current starting line-up.
The only possible move would be to chuck in Delfino or Kapono for Moon. But this would hurt our rebounding. And taking Bargnani out of the line-up isnt smart ---> we have already tried it.

Again how did Bargnani struggle? Fans have wanted defense and rebounding from him and thats what he gave you tonight and thats what he has given you the past three games. His reward for it is being yanked 1 minute into the second half for Joey Graham.

Here is what we really need, a coach or a trade because this aint working.

Lol people will call this overreacting but its true. Rasho and Bargnani should not be starters on a contender, except maybe Rasho with enough other scorers around him. Moon would not be starting on most teams, Parker is solid but thats really about it.

Would it be nice to have a good wing and a good 5 who could start? Yes. Do we have those players? No.
Bargs needs to start cause he's roughly as effective as Rasho (sometimes better, sometimes worse) and we need him to develop if we ever want to be a contender. AP needs to start, he's a good defender and much more consistent than Delfino. Moon's offense is bad, but he IS our best defender, and our 3rd best rebounder. Plus our offense off the bench is already stagnant, imagine how much worse it would be with Moon instead of Delfino or Kapono.
Fact is we are going to be a slightly above average team until/unless two of the following four things happen:
1) Bargs develops into a solid #2 scorer, and decent rebounder
2) TJ comes back, stays healthy, and plays as he was playing
3) We use our cap space in 09/10 for a big FA signing, or trade our expirings for a player that fills one of our needs (rebounding, shot blocking big who can score a bit in the post, or slashing wing who can play decent d)
4) We get an unreal sleeper pick that fills a team need around the 15-20 spot in the draft

Pulling Bargnani out of the starting 5 is a horrible idea, he will lose what little confidence he has left. It is best that he goes out there and learns how to play the 5 and learns where he can contribute. The raptors will only go as far as Andrea develops, if he becomes a decent rebounder and finds consistency in his offensive game the raps will be a tough team to beat.

Time to start Hump.

Bosh and Hump always seem to play well together (part of our top unit according to 82games.com), it helps with the rebounding and toughness issue and Hump seems to be the only big that can cleanup the mess inside and finish when teams are swarming Bosh.

We've already tried Bargs and Rasho, now Sam needs to give the best player of the trio a look.
