T.J and Chuck Interview

There was a lot said and a lot not said. The end of it was really kinda strange. Through the whole interview T.J was very much avoiding saying when he may return than at the end says to Swirsky that he might show up at the station with cookies for chuck. Which made Chuck ask if T.J was indeed still in Houston. Which he said he was but said you never know when I might show up. It was strange to say the least.

I'm sure the fan will have the whole interview posted should you want to check it out and share your thoughts.

IMO, Bryan Colangelo and TJ Ford have a pretty good understanding of all the health risks involved and they have a good idea as to when TJ Ford will return.

For whatever reason, they have decided to remain relatively quiet about it and thats fine with me.

All of TJ's interviews are like that. It's funny because people here rip Leo for picking on Chuck all the time. How it's unprofessional, etc. But it's clear with these TJ interviews that this is how everyone treats Chuck. They make fun of him. TJ was saying he'd come for Chuck's cookiee (you all know Chuck talks about his cookies). TJ was all bugging Chuck that he might pop in at any time.

But all that aside... We woke up this morning hearing that BC said TJ was going to start practicing with the Raps "soon". TJ debunked that right away. Basically he said he didn't know what BC was talking about. Said he could be back in a couple of days or another "month"!!

He said his only plan now is to come to Toronto, and then he'd know more.

i just hope he's back by march...if he's to hit a stride by the playoffs, he's gotta be out there at least a month

They shouldn't say anything about his return. He should just be suited up one night and throw off the opposing teams scheme.

I found the last part of the interview kind of strange. It almost sounded as if TJ all of a sudden was drunk or something.

I wouldn't read much into anything he said. There obviously is no firm timetable for his return. If I were him, I wouldn't want to pinpoint a time, just in case.

We will just have to be patient and wait and hope that when he does come back, it will be in good health (physically and mentally).

Care to elaborate? That's a pretty loaded statement.

Chuck asked him if Jose will make the all-star team, and TJ replied back with "It's up to the coaches, as they'll make the decisions". Chuck didn't ask him if he thought Jose DESERVED to be there, but rather will he be there and I feel TJ gave an appropriate answer.

Yeah. For the ones that think TJ and Jose are enemies, TJ Ford said that he talks a lot with Jose in the plane and everything. Ford and Calderon are good friends.

This is all further proof that the NBA isn't a real world. Where else can a guy collect an eight-million a year salary (or, for that matter, a forty-thousand salary) while joking about maybe he'll be back tomorrow, maybe in a month -- anyone's guess! I don't want to minimize TJ's injury but I still think this is bizarre. The only explanation we have for his absence is that he doesn't feel ready. He's not saying that his doctor doesn't think he's ready, or the team doesn't think he's ready, or his psychologist doesn't think he's ready, or that john lucas doesn't think he's ready. He's goofin with chuck and saying that he, TJ, isn't ready. I didn't hear the interview -- did he at least sound remorseful for the fact that his teammates are busting their asses in a playoff drive and that he wasn't available to help? Did he say, I can't wait to get back, or it's killing me to be out, or i don't feel i'm earning my eight million a year, or anything of that nature?

I can respect the fact that TJ isn't ready to step back on the court right now but if he's 100% healthy there's no excuse for him not to be with the team/attending practice.
