Fire sale in Memphis (Mike Miller/JC Navarro?)

Do you guys think we can come up with a deal for Miller? If Gasol can be had on the cheap like that, I wonder if he's the next to get shipped out. Definitely something Colangelo should look into.

Edit: Merged Mike Miller and JC Navarro threads into one.

We lack expiring contracts, so it would need to be a three-way trade. Although Dixon+Bargnani might be enough additional savings (about $4m) to give them a shot at a max player...

Mike Miller would be sweet. A three points shooter, gets rebounds, shoots 50% from the field.

What Miller is being paid the next 3 seasons, including this one.

$8,250,000

$9,000,000

$9,750,000

They just traded Gasol for a project point and two late 1st's, not so sure they'd ask for Bargnani in a Miller deal, at least I hope not...

I don't know that I would do it, either, just spitballing. Parker + Dixon also works, I believe (saves them $4.5m next season) and I'd be willing to swap our 1st rounder for their extremely high 2nd to get it done.

dixon+kapono would work

I know most people would say MEM scoffs at Kapono, but he is a serviceable player on an MLE contract.

edit: obviously, we'd have to throw in a future first to get that done. say 2010

So they now have three PG prospects? Smart. If they can develop them at all those are real nice assets to have.

I just don't see Miller bringing a big improvement to this team.

He has 3 years left after this one, Memphis wants to save money not take on more of it.

Man, only if Rasho's damn contract was expiring this year, we could have made a freaking run at Gasol if anything...

At this juncture, Critt is probably better suited to play off guard anyway...he's 6'4-5", and rangy enough to guard SGs.

Since they like point guards. Why not Dmart for Miller

Again, though, this is a perfect example of why we are in excellent shape next season...$17 million in expiring deals, and all of our draft picks. Plus, the '09 free agent market is five times as intriguing...I'd almost be surprised if we couldn't find a taker.
