Mavs would trade Dirk for Bosh and 5 others: Old Article!

Post#1 » by cbosh4mvp » Sat Feb 2, 2008 5:02 pm

Chris Bosh: He's proven he can bring a national title to Dallas, carrying Lincoln High to an undefeated season as a senior (right). He's 23, almost as good a scorer as Dirk, a better rebounder and a much better defender.

old but still interesting. I think this was may 29, 2007. Still very nice to hear from Mavs central.

Now the question is would you guys do this if you were BC?

It wouldn't put either team over the top. Dirk is still a better player I think, but not by much. Both are finesse 4's who can score and rebound...dirk the better scorer, chris the better rebounder.

It wouldn't get us out the first round this year, and it wouldn't win Dallas a title, so why would either team do it? Neither Chris nor Dirk are the problem with their respective teams.

I'm pretty excited to see what Bosh can do in the next couple of years. His athleticism is really starting to impress me this season and he's still got some room to grow.

There's a big difference between the Mavs being willing to trade Dirk for Bosh and some guy with a blog being willing to trade Dirk for Bosh.

Well, first off, that isn't an article; it's a blog. There's quite a big difference between the two.

Secondly, I dont know who Tim MacMahon is, but it's just his opinion on who HE would trade Dirk for. It has nothing to do with the Mavs.

But for my opinion... I wouldn't trade Bosh for Dirk. For James, Duncan, or Kobe though, I probablyyyy would. Maybe for Howard as well. But I'm more than happy with Bosh.

Some of the worst trades in the NBA are typically when you trade a solid young player for a guy that is a bit better player but is also several years older. Those usually backfire when the older player starts to regress as the younger player continues to improve. The is especially true when the older player is either on the backside of his prime or past his prime.

The Dale Davis/Jermaine O'Neal trade comes to mind. The Raps once traded Camby for Oakley. Orlando traded TMac for Steve Francis. The Bucks traded Ray Allen for Gary Payton. Rip Hamilton for Jerry Stackhouse. And that's why I keep saying that Dallas is making a huge mistake if they trade Harris for Kidd.

And on that note, Dirk is 6 years older than Bosh and turns 30 this season.

Maybe if Dirk was 4 years younger, just maybe.

Dirk and Bargnani...I'm drooling at those shooting forwards. Nobody would ever be in the paint ever.

Wasn't T-Mac considered the better player when they were traded for each other?
