Which team should the Raptors raid?

With Memphis on fire sale, it seems that bargain hunting season is upon us as bottom teams are throwing in the towel and looking towards the future (race to the Draft?) Apart from Rudy Gay (who is now ther franchise player), there isnt really much I like on the GRizz that would fit our need. One team that is a good possibility to inquire about is the Sonics.. They have quite a few bigs on that team (Wilcox, Sene, and Swift) plus Wilikins would be a solid addition t the SG/SF spot. None of these are frachise players so it is entirely possible for the Raptors to get a bargain.
Too bad the Hawks are doing well, as they have a lot of swingmen the Raptors could try to get too.. The Knicks are a possibility but I do not think they will get rid of Balkman or Lee that easily.

I think the Bucks may be able to provide us with some fire sales that might be useful for us in the long run, I wouldn't mind getting Charlie-V back at all

Magette would be a nice rental, but we don't have much to offer.
Kurt Thomas would be a nice addition, and being friends with Bosh is a bonus.
It was mentioned in another thread, but the idea of adding Delonte West intrigues me. A combo guard who can play decent D and the ability to hit the 3. He can be had. Maybe Dixon and a future 2nd or two?

Neither the Bucks nor Grizzles can provide the Raptors with an athletic wing player who rocks the rim.
Bobby Suckons doesn't really play above the rim, is injury prone, and just not that good, and while Mike Miller would be an upgrade over what the Raptors have now he's still primarily a shooter.

We should address needs. I'd look at Kurt Thomas of Seattle or Darko, yes Darko.

Ron Artest would be a perfect fit for this team. He would provide toughness, grit, rebounding and would be the secondary scorer we need. Hes also a great defender. Only downside is that hes a crackpot, but i think we can/should deal with that (it may also lower his value). Im not sure what it would take to get him, or if the Kings even want to trade him, but it would be sweet if we did get him.

Saer Sene and Robert swift from the sonics.
francisco garcia and beno udrih of the kings
rodney carney and thaddeus young of the 76ers.
I could add more but lazy. this is in a realistic perspective because of the low contract and money wise. young and what we need

Knicks: David Lee or Renaldo Balkman are exactly what this team needs.

you know what, Ron Artest is one of my favorite players, I love the passion he brings and his hard nose style of play. That being said I think he'd kill the chemistry we've worked so hard to build

raptors should not raid anybody.
raptors should be patient and wait to see what's available next year. remember, an expiring AP/rasho/garbo are much more valuable than this season.

That's my general view. But if we could do a deal that would help us sooner, fine. However, we shouldn't compromise our chances of doing something larger this summer.

look..denver is trying to unload one of their big salary players..
they're over the luxury tax...of course those two are not named Iverson or Carmelo...so wats left
Kenyon Martin..13 mill a year (signed till 2010/2011)
Nene (signed a huge extension worth 9 mill a year) went down with cancer
Camby 8 mil a year
Nahara 4 mill a year
so u see..plus Iverson at 20 mill..and Carmelo starting at 13 and going up...
denver needs to unload one of their players

The guy can't shoot. BC won't go anywhere near him.

I like Mike Miller and Kurt Thomas out of who's been mentioned, as well as Delonte West if we don't want TJ here long-term. I agree on waiting but if we get our chance now, I'm all for it.
I almost want to say I'd consider Nene if his recovery goes well but I don't think I can bring myself to do it with that contract. I love the idea of signing Najera in the offseason though.

Josh Childress!!!!
check out his stats from last night
Childress knocked down 10 of his 11 shots from the field Saturday night on his way to 23 points in 33 minutes. He also added six boards, four assists and two steals. (Feb 2)

Didnt BC pursue him before he was traded to the Grizz?
I hope BC doesnt follow this only players who shoot the outside jumper philosophy because we clearly need some interior toughness.
