OT - Camby Getting Traded?

I just read on the Denver board that a radio station is reporting that Camby and Najera may be involved in a upcoming trade. To add to the speculation Camby and Najera came down with "late injuries" and are not playing tonight or even in suits on the bench.

I don't understand how Denver is always trying to ship Camby. He is exactly what they need which is defense. That whole team is full of players who can't play defense, and how is removing best defender in the league going to solve that?
If we where to get Camby, I think we could challenge for eastern confernce. I don't know what nuggets are looking to get back, but I would trade anything but Calderon/Bosh for him.

can't see why they would trade Camby as he's such a big factor defensively for them. even if it is for Kidd still wouldn't make sense.
although mabye there intrigued with the idea of re-uniting Kidd with K-Mart to go along with AI and Melo. Mabye there is match

what's Camby's contract look like? I'd trade TJ for him in a heartbeat.

Kidd played tonight which would make it pretty weird if he was being traded, then again Collins is supposed to be shipped to Memphis by Monday and he started :'=x (although in Collins' case I think it was a going away present from Frank).

Camby is 34 next month and has three years left on his deal. I doubt anyone trades for Ford until he proves he can play at his pre-injury best.

You wouldn't trade Bargnani for Camby. Camby has maybe one more good season after this, tops. He's 34 next month.

Camby hasnt played that many games in his career though due to injuries. Maybe his body is less worn out than you think. His numbers sure dont seem to be taking a dip. Plus he's not too heavy the way shaq is which is probably the reason for the huge dip in statistics.

camby is not a good defender.
he's a good rebounder and he is good on weak side help to block shots. but as a defender, he's not that good.

Trading Camby would be moronic. Not only does he provide the interior presence they need without demanding the ball too much, he also isn't making an outlandish amount of money. Knowing him, the "late injury" was probably just that. Besides, George Karl loves him.

I agree. His shot-blocking is even more important given the supreme crappiness of Iverson and Melo's perimeter D.

That DPOY trophy on his mantle suggests otherwise. Have you seen him play recently?

just out of curiosity and this is pure speculation on my part but
a) would you welcome camby back? and
b) do you think he would come if he were traded to toronto?

He isn't a great man to man defender. He's a great weak side shot blocker.
Ben Wallace wasn't a great man to man defender either. Cliff Robinson played D on the best opposing big men.... Then it was Rasheed.
Ben was never great at man to man D.
Great team defender yes, not a great man to man defender.

Weird that him and Najera both aren't playing tonight.... something is definitely happening..
You would think that Denver would trade him to the East, right? Maybe to Cleveland for Gooden and fillers?
