Bargnani barging into role
"I think he finally gets it on offence," Bosh said. "People are going to play him for his shot and I think he's finally starting to figure that out. If he continues to drive and kick or finish at the rim and continues to get better on the boards he's going to be a big plus."

Raptors enjoy Bargnani's flashes of future stardom
"I tried to drive the ball, sometimes it is easier and sometimes the defence in the paint is tough for me," he said. "When you make some shots, it's easier to drive because the defender gets closer to respect your shot, so you have more possibilities to drive the ball."

"Andrea's coming to the coaches now and saying, `Let's get some work in,'" Mitchell said. "We used to have to go to him. I'm not worried about Andrea, he's working and he's getting better."

Bosh tries acting, again
Not to ruin the surprise, but we believe Bosh has been exposed to a little too much BBC television up here north of the border. And we can honestly say that's about as good of an English accent as you're going to find from a Texan.

Isiah Thomas shot at Pau Gasol yet another air ball
"We investigated," Thomas says, "and they didn't want to trade him in the summer."

Thomas wouldn't say if the Knicks recently talked to Memphis, which is looking to cut its payroll. Of course, an admission that the Knicks pursued Gasol would further demonstrate that Thomas doesn't believe an Eddy Curry-Zach Randolph combination can work.

Q: Why do players in the NBA only get flu-like symptoms? Does no one get the regular flu anymore?

Nick H-C, Vancouver

A: Maybe the shots they get only work halfway well?

flu-like symptoms = raging hang-over

Edit: How (Please Use More Appropriate Word) is Isiah Thomas? I mean - seriously? This guy really thinks he has a shot at landing every star player across the league, even though his team has no attractive trading chips whatsoever (except for maybe David Lee, whose value isn't that high).

i think every team in the association would love a chance to get balkman on their roster.
