Colangelo has not made a Single Transaction in 3 Months

Nothing

Not a 10 day
Not a waiver claim
Not a Trade
Not a Hire to his staff

This is certainly not a anti-BC thread. However, it is a bit puzzling that he has not done anything for so long. Clearly this team right now is looking like first round fodder, but to stand pat for this long.... I don't get it.

So a 10 day would get us past the 1st round?

After making so many moves, it's understandable that he wants to wait things out, and let the team develop some chemistry. That being said, I can't believe that we still have Dixon and Graham. I thought BC would have realized that our 15 man roster is a bit too deep

It's not about making moves for the sake of making moves anymore or trying to "change the culture of the team" or clear capspace.

Those days are gone, we only can make moves that make our team better and make us advance to the second like the above poster said.

Couldnt the same be said about teams like the Celtics and the Suns?

*Maybe they did do something, but I am too lazy to check

What have the SAS, Det, Pho or half the other teams in the league done in the past 3 months? I am not implying that we are on their level but merely that there is a lot of inactivity all over. This isn't fantasy basketball.

This isn't NBA2K8.

You don't make trades after every other game.

What 10-day deal would you suggest? You couldn't sign 10-day contracts until three weeks ago. Now Ford is returning.

What waiver claim? Most teams don't make waiver claims. They don't want the downstream salary.

What trades? There are two weeks to the trade deadline, but even if he makes no trades, doesn't mean he believes this roster is untouchable. A lot is possible this summer just with expiring contracts.

What additions to staff? Who did you have in mind?

I'm sure he's looking around, but BC tends to operate against a plan. He can't just trade anyone without considering the downstream salary implications, which is why the summer gives him more flexibility. We're still a young team, not one that is a single trade away from being a true contender. He will continue to operate with an eye on where the team will be 2-3 years down the road, not where it will be in May. If he can make a trade that helps in the short term without giving up long-term assets, he will. But those trades tend to happen when teams out of the playoffs finally capitulate. They don't capitulate in November. They capitulate around the trade deadline.

Hey - John Paxson has not made an in-season trade since the Jalen Rose trade to Toronto in Nov 2003

He has not made a player trade at all since a 2006 swap of Basden for Martynas Whats-his-name.

You guys are complaining about 3 months?????????

Our GM cant close deals at all - and the team seem in desperate need of players at many positions. Toronto has a winning team so moves are not really urgent.

are we sure hes still the GM? maybe he left and went to South America without telling anyone?

does it matter if he's done nothing?
can't we wait it out and see how we perform again once our team is completely healthy? you know... TJ Ford... Garbajosa?

I believe the Ukic situation has evolved in the last few months.

We have a lot of uncertainties right now that make it hard to plan for the future. TJ

The uncertainty is definitely a factor, but at this point it's not so much preventing B-Co from deciding how good the team really is, but rather preventing him using about 12M of solid players in trade talks.

The team does have a full roster though, so the 10 day is out, and there obviously aren't a whole bevvy of great wing players being shopped right now. What's B-Co suppose to do? manufacture a transaction out of thin air? If a trade comes up that'll help the team I'm sure he'll make it.

I'm with the majority opinion here that an off-season move is far more likely.

What's to get? Obviously he's been on an extended golf vacation and ignoring his job. Would you hang around Toronto during the winter if you had the money and resources to go golfing and hang out on warm, sandy beaches all day?
