Portland, a full 8 games over .500, would miss the playoffs if they started tomorrow.

New Jersey, a full 7 games BELOW .500, and playing some horrible basketball to boot, would be in at the eighth seed in the east.

Just don't seem right.

because the East sucks. All the good players are over there (pretty much)..............

I don't know, I would much rather face Seattle and Memphis than the knicks or the heat.

The western conference has 11 VERY good teams.

Phoenix
New Orleans
Dallas
Utah
LA Lakers
San Antonio
Denver
Golden State
Portland
Houston
Sacramento

all of these teams would be top 6 teams in the east.

the east has 6 good teams.

Boston
Detroit
Orlando
Cleveland
Toronto
Washington

imo, only Boson and Detroit would make the playoffs in the west.

Look at Orlando they beat Huston, Lakers, NO, and Portland everytime they faced them.

I think the east gets too much undeserved slag. I feel the teams in the east are bigger X-factors than the teams in the West. The teams in the east can devour if running on all cylinders. The teams in the west are, well, systematic.

Orlando could probably grab a seventh or eighth seed.

Since when was Sacramento a VERY good team? I wouldn't even call them a good team, let alone a very good team. They're mediocre. Just because they're on a little bit of a run doesn't all of sudden make them a good team.

They're good enough to make the playoffs in the East.

Give it up to the Raps though - probably one of the only teams that have won in both San Antonio and New Orleans. Had a 24 point lead in Dallas too.

So? What's your point? Atlanta and New Jersey are good enough to make the playoffs in the East. Are they good teams?

they have had injury troubles. just take a look at their players.

Mike Bibby
Kevin Martin
John Salmons
Ron Artest
Brad Miller
Fran Garcia
Beno Udrih
Mikki Moore

thats a **** load of talent right there. they are a very good team.

22-24 in the western conference. they have done this with out martin and bibby, their two best players for most of the season.

Beno udrih is probably going to be a candidate for MIP and if Bibby gets back to being a 15+ point scorer again, than they might make a push.

How about this observation......................who cares!

What difference does it make to continue this thread? It is clear the Western Conference is stronger right now.
