With all the euphoria over TJ coming back; it got me to wondering when Garbo is back? He is a huge boost to this teams toughness and overall BBall IQ. As one Euro GM said, 'He isn't the best player on the floor, but he is the reason we win.' He can take the Raps to the next level. It would seemingly be around the time quoted when he had the surgery (3 months from mid November)

I don't think so. Rotowire had it down as 10 weeks before rehab; which would say he is already in rehab mode. Also, I had the privledge of visiting the Raps locker room during the Cavs game in Toronto and Garbo was in the locker room (I went in during the 2nd Qtr) doing some ultrasound therapy. I think he will be back by Early April at the latest.

Do you have anything that says he is NOT coming back for sure?

Out for the Season is the last word. Everyone who said that is 100% right. 10 weeks is wishful thinking.

I know it is somewhat answering my own question; but this got to me so I went to look. Doug Smith said in his Dec 12th column that it could spell the end of the season. The problem here is; no one knows. The Raps have been so tight lipped about this because of the insurance implications.

In my opinion he is out more than a year, i think the guy will never play a full season for the raps,

Garbo said in one of his last interviews during a half time at one of the games that he hopes to be back at the end of the season.

Speculation is pretty much useless. He had to be eight weeks in the cast, with no weight bearing. Eight weeks is up next week. Then they will likely run additional tests to back up the diagnosis a month ago that things looked good. Then, if things have indeed healed, he will begin a rehab to rebuild his leg muscles. I presume he won't be ready for this season, but will be 100% by the summer for the Olympics and for training camp next fall. However, I would not be shocked if he came back for the playoffs - it's just that I have no info to suggest that is going to happen.
