King's Wings

Post#1 » by Rapsalot » Wed Feb 6, 2008 3:55 am

If you could trade for one of the King's Wings which one would you like to see as a Raptor and why?

Salmons

Artest

Garcia

Assume we have to give up the same value to get one a 2009 first top 15 protected and some wing back Joey or Juan.

Artest would fill a need, but you never know what he's thinking or when he'll have an outburst.

He hasn't made headlines for a while. I think Artest has cooled down and become a player that is not infecting an organization with cancer.

Artest is the exact player we need. But as mentioned, he's very unstable.

those two technicals were the first two technical fouls hes got since the days in sacramento. (and i dont even think he should have received them)

and i heard the fans were being really childish there.

Toronto is last in the league for Technical Fouls. Adding Artest would not do much harm as one expects it to do. IMO I just think he wants to be with a team that has a chance winning the championship and him being a contributor to that team. The Kings are not that team.

Ron Artest. Even though he's a nutcase, I feel like Sam can deal with him.

Smitch is tough, I think he's be able to keep Artest in line, he's not a bad person so to speak, he's just very emotional about playing, I think that can work for or against him given the situation, but honestly you couldn't have a better team mate, someone that'll have your back no matter what. Artest brings a whole lot of heart into his game, sometimes it gets the better of him.

Yeah, Garcia makes the most sense. He'd be our best wing playmaker/defender, and is a 40% 3-point shooter already. He doesn't have huge upside, but he's a smart, talented player who would give us good minutes at the 2/3, and even take Dixon's minutes at the 1 were one of our PG's to go down.

He really exemplifies what BC looks for when he refers to his acquisitions as "basketball players" first.

Could have used him when Horford injured TJ

And there was also him stating that he'd be better of elsewhere just today.

That was when Smitch was a rookie coach. Now he has all this experience and a lot of things are going good for him generally speaking. I think Smitch and Bosh could handle Artest.

Artest would be a great fit, but could also kill the chemistry.

I'm hungry NOW....

Tho...Artest is probably the kinda player with a bad attitude who is getting mature...who if he gets influxed into the right mix of players and attitude could actually flourish...

It's not like our team is a a young team...it has good veteran players and a good young core who I feel could really rejuvenate Artest's career like Rasheed Wallace in detroit...

You will still get the technicals and the hard fouls...but Artest also understand Micthells concept in doing what it takes to get the win...Just needs a team/management that will keep him in control...

But I want some Wings now...just finished playing some basketball and i am starving...

Artest's game is exactly what the Raptors need, but that mind of his is something that could destroy this team... crazy sonofbich.

No way can Bosh do anything to tame Artest.

As for Smitch, I wouldn't be surprised if Smitch ends up getting into a fist fight with him, landing some hard shats to his ribs.

Return to Toronto Raptors
