Why are we so inconsistent?

What is it about this team? Is it because we rely on the jump shot too much? Is it because we are soft defensively? Is it because we can't rebound the ball most nights? Is it because of the coaching? Is it because of the young guys in the starting line-up (Bargnani and Moon)?

I know this question can be a combination of all of the above, but what's the most glaring reason to why we're so damn inconsistent?

Make a move Colangelo...

it all factors on one guy (really) = Bargs.

For starters, we can trade Bosh for Carter, and work ourselves up the ladder... Bosh has 0 leadership skills and can't be man enough to finish up a game.

Because a perimeter shooting team will have its off nights, and the defense isn't good enough to make up for those nights. Also a lack of mental toughness/killer instinct.

As I have been saying for two year now, this team has one all-star. Depending on role players will lead to a mediocre season, since role players themselves are mediocre. Find another star and run a two star system like every other elite team.

Delfino was very inconsistent in Detroit. A major reason why Dumars let him go for just 2 2nd rounders.

Their were just too many 0-5 or 2-7 type nights out of him.

Delfino came up with 14 points tonight on 4-9 shooting, he wasn't bad tonight.

Dumars got jacked in that trade.

In most eyes he already is banned. If everyone else puts him on ignore, he is basically non-existent correct?

He played 17 minutes and the team was outscored by 19 points!

You can have that...

Delfino has one of the worst +/- on your team, ahead of only Bargs.

Delfino and Chris Webber were the worst +/- players on our team and Dumars wouldn't take Webber back for a reason, and traded Delfino for a reason.

you cant wait for the ASG huh?

Finding an all star is too vague. I much rather stay the path we are on, and develop a few future all stars through internal growth and draft picks.

but your idea was pretty good too.

I'd say a big component is the fact that we really don't have the pieces to be consistent on either side of the ball.

When teams really want to, they can attack the paint against us on defence to get open shots or layups and on offence we lack the slashers to make a defence pay for overplaying our shooters.

Usually really good teams have one side of the ball that is their calling card that they can rely on when things go bad. We're slightly above average defensively and above average offensively, but nothing special.

And that's why +/- is a garbage stat...

The Raptors always loose games coming off a nice few days rest. Something has to be happening during those days that is throwing the teams focus off, or maybe its because their really not a mature team.

I remember 2 seasons ago, the Raps were a very crappy team, but lost many games only in the 3rd or late 4th quarters because they would just zone out. Last season, they did a good job at staying in games, and winning a number of close games by maintaining their composure and focus.

I think one of the things we will improve on by next season, is learning that their are no nights off against any teams, and showing up to play night in, and night out.

People, exercise some patience.

Because we are a jump shooting team. Thank BC for that. Its time for him to do something. The only core, the best 2 players in Bosh and Jose are Grunwald and Babcocks legacy. BC has yet to add someone significant to the future of this team and the present is mediocre at best. Time to pick up the slack BC or get the heck out of here. Babcock laid out all the groundworks for you by giving you a #1 pick and lots of capspace and this is the crap you give us!

Yeah because outscoring the opposing team while you're on the floor isn't very important.

You have 0 knowledge. You scored a 0 on your IQ test. Out of a ranking of 1 to 100 on how much your liked on this board...is 0.

Hes finished many games he is the MAIN reason why we actually win games. Why would we deal Bosh for Carter? Bosh is playing the best he's ever played in his career and on the other hand you have a Vince Carter who isn't playing his best basketball. Theres a reason why the Nets are shopping him.

All I see is that.............We're so Inconsistent, because this team loves to take games off. For our past wins and loss, if you look at them. We play .500 team's and play tough and the next game we play below .500 team's and don't compete is like we play to their level. Some Nights we dont even show up............

Adjustments. Smitch usually isn't completely horribly bad, but tonight he was.

Also, what happens when bad shooters like moon start taking more jumpers, it gets all the other people who should be taking jumpers, out of their flow. In the third when we got hammered he took like 5+ jumpers when other, better shooters, should have been shooting the ball. You can't let them cool off like that.
