Now I know this guy is a good player, but do you people really believe what Mark Cuban says:

"He can be a top-five point guard," said owner Mark Cuban. "I don't think there's any question he has that potential. We track every number known to man, and he's tracking on that path right now."

No. Not Possible.

Ford/Caldy if playing together arent even considered top 10 by the "experts".

Almost every young player has the potential to be great. I don't think Devin Harris will ever be top 5.

Why would he talk down his own player, especially with the trade dead line coming up?

I'm guessing BC is telling most GM's that Humphries has the potential to lead the league is rebounds in a few season.

But do I agree that Harris has the potential, yes I do. Do I feel he'll ever reach that potential, I doubt it.

Ukic fans rejoice. Since Ukic shut down Harris in pre draft workouts
Ukic>>>>Harris

That means well have 3 top 10 pgs

Does that mean that beginning of "who's better? Ukic/Ford/Calderon" threads?

Man, I have this guy on my fantasy team - so I keep a close eye on his stats, he had like only a handful of OK games, and this was supposed to be his breakout year too. Both of our PGs are way better than him, hands down

Sadly I think I have already seen threads like that on this board.

People are going to be seriously disappointed with Ukic. He's going to see only garbage minutes next year.

I really like Devin Harris' game but is he on a path to be top 5 point guard ??

I dont think so, not for a long while.

Hes a good young PG, but he is on the Alvin Williams track rather than the Jason Kidd track . . . 5.3 assists in 30 mpg as a 4th year pro is hardly destined for stardom.

He is a good guy to have on your team, but is best suited to being a 6th man combo guard IMO. Just doesn't have the court vision to be a top pg.

Harris has the defense, scoring ability and solid overall heady play to be every bit as good as Chauncey Billups or at least Tony Parker. Even Kidd, to say nothing of Alvin Williams, didn't have the innate scoring ability possessed by Harris. I don't know if he'll ever be top 5 or not but I suspect he's going to be very good and he's got a shot.

Harris is an interesting PG in that he has a lot of potential but just isn't confident yet. He's not sure whether to become a second/third option with everyone on that team. I mean I've watched a ton of Dallas games and I'm impressed with the kid, his defense is mind-blowing. I mean of all the new guards he could be the best defensive guard by a mile. He bothers an offensive player so much with his hands.

He's also a good passer but he plays timidly. He doesn't like holding onto the ball because he'd rather give it to Stackhouse, Terry, Nowitzki or Howard. He seems very sort of timid behind the veterans.

He's got the potential, people say he works hard but he's def. going to have some roadblocks ahead of him mentally. TOP 5 is really pushing it because I mean look at the PG's currently in the league (this is going to be a deadly position)

Paul, Parker, Williams, Ford, Calderon, Rondo, Harris, Farmar - Coming in Mayo, Rose.

He seems to have tunnel vision on O. Kind of like Jameer Nelson.

His lack of pure PG skillz is holding back. At least from what I've seen.

He is very fast, very long though. He needs to get Stockton to tutor him like D.Will then maybe....

The same stuff was said about Jamario Moon. Don't jump the gun on making conclusions... we'll see what happens.

If he was so great though, why is he in every deal Dallas puts together?
