We need a backup plan when our shot doesn't fall
Everyone knows we're the best shooting team in the league and possibly one of the best of all time but we still lose a lot of games do to inconsistent shooting. When we're hitting, we're probably one of the toughest teams to defend against but when those open jumpers aren't going in we struggle.
I think our biggest problem is that we don't adjust to games when our shot isn't dropping. Too often we'll just keep trying to find the open man for a jumper and almost always we'll continue to miss those shots. I know it's kinda obvious but in order for this team to go a big run the coaching staff needs to work on a plan designed specifically for games when our shot isn't dropping.
I don't really think we can shoot any better than we're shooting. More consistency would be nice but it's not gonna happen every night and if we're seriously planning on contending we need to figure out some different ways to score.

The thing that concerns most is that when things don't work perfectly, the offence slows down. I'd like to see more attention paid to maintaining a consistent tempo even if it means moving the ball around smartly and risking a couple more 24-second violations.
By the way, we're the best three point shooting team. I doubt we're anywhere near the best percentage FG shooting team.

"Everyone knows we're the best shooting team in the league and possibly one of the best of all time". We are a good shooting team, but isn't that taking it a wee bit too far? "Of all time" ? Let's not get carried away.
I think you are right though because that's exactly what happened in the Clippers game. Shots were falling early and we didn't adjust when they weren't later on. Bosh has got to be the catalyst here. He really settled a lot in that game. I also think TJ is just the guy to have back since he really is great at getting in the lane and creating. You only have to look back to yesterday with all of the good looks he got for Rasho.

Personally, I think in those times Jose needs to look for his own offense more - which he seems to be doing more of lately - but I feel he needs to do it even more.
When you shoot those kind of percentages like Jose does, if you find that the offense is stagnating because of double teams on Bosh, sticking to shooters etc., looking for your own shot in those kinds of situations can be a form of offensive Ex Lax.

the most consistent part of basketball is your defense/rebounding. when our shot is not falling we're going to have to "grind it out". we're going to have to draw fouls, force turnovers etc and somehow put ourselves in a position to win at the end of the game.
it's a common misconception to think: our bread and butter on offense is not working, let's try something else on offense to try and win. not realizing, that more often that not, if your best offensive weapon has been neutralized you have little hope in deviating from your strengths and still winning.

To be fair, the NBA record for 3-pt % in a season is .428 by Charlotte in 1996/1997 (591 out of 1382).
The Raptors are currently shooting .421 on 3 pointers (376 of 893) through 50 games. Pro-rating attempts over the remaining 32 games, they are on pace to shoot 1465 3's. To hit .429 and set the record, they would need to make 628 total 3's, or 252 more out of 572, or .4406. With Bargnani shooting the ball well again, and TJ back to create more open 3's on drive-and-dish (esp. for Kapono), it's very possibly that the raps could set this record.
Whether this makes them the best shooting team of all time or not is still questionable, but it would make them the best 3-pt shooting team of all time.

It's pretty clear what we have to do when our shots aren't falling - drive to the basket. Unfortunately, we don't have the right balance of players right now so everyone just continues to jack up shots. Until we get some new players in, this is not going to change. This is the same problem we had all of last season as well.

As I understand, the Raps are on pace to break the record for 3pt% with the standard 3pt line.
This is correct...good catch. The 3-pt line was shortened to a uniform 22 ft in 94-95 and stayed that way until 97-98. Most 3-pt records seem to fall in this era, not surprisingly. However, the NBA doers not seem to differentiate between the two distances in the record books.

When the shots aren't falling our wings need to drive more. It's not rocket science.
And don't tell me they can't either. Parker has had several impressive dunks on drives the last few weeks (including one last night), yet many games he just doesn't drive. Moon is quick and has great hops - he should be amongst the league leaders in dunks. We've seen Delfino drive at times, and even Kapono. They all have the ability (especially Moon), they just need to use it.
