OT: Will Vince Carter Be The Next NJ Net To Move?
Posted: Wed Feb 13, 2008 9:15 pm
by C Court
Chris Broussard of ESPN seems to think Vince Carter's days in New Jersey are numbered, now that the Kidd deal is done.
He says there is a 70% chance that Carter is dealt to Indy for Jermaine O'Neal within the next week.
I also like Vince Carter, but with J-Kidd gone, his days with the Nets are probably numbered, too.
The Nets are willing to send Carter to Indiana for Jermaine O'Neal.
If O'Neal receives a clean bill of health within the next week, I've been told by league sources that there's a 70 percent chance of this trade going down.
Mods: If this fits better in an existing thread, feel free to move it.

It's strange to imagine VC in a Pacers jersey... Really bad luck, Kidd gets traded to a contender, and he might go to a team even worse than his current one...

I think you would have been better off admitting you were a Pacers fan. Unfortunately, Vince is the poster boy for "Karma is a bitch".

No thanks. Being traded to the Pacers is basically the end of success in Vince's career, not to mention those damn Pacers unis are awful. It may be karma, I can agree with you on some points, but at some point people need to stop turning a blind eye and see that management screwed Vince before Vince screwed the Raptors.

Indiana? Vince on the Knicks sounds much more fitting.

VC on the Bobcats would be even better. Can you imagine MJ scolding/yelling at VC for half-assing it everytime he practices/works out/plays a game?

Please don't start the old VC was screwed by management (unless you are his mom).
They did screw him when they decided to make him the franchise player.
He is an athlete freak with a huge amount of talent which turned to waste due to his lack of character strength. Too bad, his strength turned into his Achile heel. He is the prototype of spoiled kid who's got it all the easy way and doesn't appreciate it. Easy come, easy go...

If Vince gets traded it will for sure be to a team that isn't a contender. Any decent GM by now knows that Vince isn't the kind of guy you bring to your team for a playoff run, he sure isn't the warrior type who you can be relied on to outplay elite players.
Vince is the kind of guy a bad or average team might take a chance on to help put buts in the seats for any teams struggling with attendance. If fans know their team isn't going anywhere then they're less likely to show up, but if they might see a highlight then they're more likely to show. He helps teams entertain, not win.

I would like to take a gamble on him if I was a GM> yet again Ishiah is probably thinking the same too right now.

Yeah, I agree, Vince is gone. Not sure he will go to the Pacers for sure though, but his days in NJ are done.

Good reason why VC is destined for Idiana.

what are you talking about , he is a better fit for the New York Knicks. They have a good system in NEW YORK : PAY LOT OF MONEY, DONT DO NOTHING ON THE COURT> All of their players have bad contracts and are really high paid. Couple of years ago, it was even worse when Allan Houston and Anfernee Hardaway had max money and were pretty much injured. Ishiah is just ruining the fun of the game, but creating a great show!
