Hypothetical question. Sneaking lower seats.

Hypothetical question here.

Assume my buddy and I come to a raps game and are seated high up. (sprite zone) We wait one quarter to give late comers time to arrive.

Then at the start of the second quarter, my buddy and I walk down to the first 15 rows or so and find a pair of vacant seats that aren't in a crowded area

We then pretend like we are checking our tickets and give facial expressions of "aha theres our seats" We then proceed to get comfortable and watch the rest of the game from the seats that were previously going to waste.

My question is ... What are the risks involved.

Ackshun wrote:"hey your in my seat"

"oh ok, sorry" and then move back to your original seats.

is it really worth it to move 15 rows down ?

Not move 15 rows down. Move from sprite zone to first 15 rows courtside.

Half-time is your best bet if you want to avoid an embarrassing situation where the original ticket holders arrive a bit late. From my experience it's not that risky just make sure you keep an eye on seats from the get go and make sure to go to an area where there's more seats available just in case the tickets holders come VERY late. Some people may say "buy better seats" but screw it, if they are open it's more of a shame for them to go to waste in my opinion, plus odds are MLSE already got paid for the seats anyways so save the high horse talk.

Agreed. As far as the embarrassment factor, you can nullify it by choosing empty seats in a place where theres several other empty seats beside it. In those type of settings even if the seat-holders arrive , you just say "Oh sorry, my mistake" and move over to the nearby seats. Seems illogical to have droves of empty seats near court all game long when someone could enjoy them and support team better.

Well, if you want to move courtside there's going to be people waiting there asking to see your ticket if they don't recognize you from before... and most likely the same for the closest seats to the court... Not worth the risk...

Moving from the sprite zone to the first balcony seats in Row 1, centre view is real easy though... Nobody is there to ask you questions, and the view is amazing... I did it last game..

I have tried this, and I can tell you it won't work. I tried to move into the platinium section, and they always have people roaming around asking to see your ticket, especially if they haven't seen you there before.

Plus, there is probably someone watching over your original seats to see who leaves and who comes in to make sure that no one is trying to sneak away to a lower/better seat.

i was able to do it for the milwaukee game. i was sitting in the mid 300s and we spotted 4 empty golds a few row behind chuck and leo. went down at half time and somehow managed to find the exact 4 seats that were vacant (which was VERY diffifcult because all the seats were empty as it was halftime). anyway we saw the second half really damn close and there was one of those security guys standing a few feet away from our seats the whole time. i think they leave you alone if there's no scene, as long as you act like you belong. if the guys that had those seats had come at any point in the half, it would have been another story.

Lol i actually was wondering this also, going to a t-wolves game next week. Since its pretty rare for me to see an NBA game, I think I'll just pay the extra cash. Tickets are cheaper there anyways.

Didn't see the other thread, but I've tried this before. Don't try and get 15 seats to the bottom. We scouted seats around that area while we were sitting in the top level. Went down, and ended up there was a seperate enterence to the real low seats I think.

Wasn't hard to get down there, but just make sure the tunnel you're coming out from is the one you plan to. Or you will end up in an awkward situation when the people come back to their seats while you're sitting in them. (yes that sucked, lol)

here's what you can do:

- make a fake ebay account
- bid and win on multiple lower bowl tickets
- make sure you know the section and row of the tickets
- ask the person to meet up 1 hour before the game
- don't show up
- sit on those seats

of course i've never tried this personally but there's a very high chance that it might work
