Is this a possibility: Restricted Free Agency

With the upcoming free agency there are only three teams that are under the cap: Philadelphia, Memphis and Atlanta. Now that being said there are a number of SF's that many teams including the Raptors would like to have (Iguodala, Josh Smith, Luol Deng) but with only three teams under the cap do you think that these players respective teams would play hard ball and save some money (just like how Cleveland did this past summer), and if so is the possibility of some of these players taking a one year contract highly possible making them UFA for the 09 Summer where the Raptors will have some money to offer?

possible, improbable. Raps will trade rasho's expiring and something else to get that SG/SF they need. Personally, i'm hoping for now (someone like mike miller) but i'd be willing to hold out if we could bring in someone like a josh smith or an iguodala.

whenever you're projecting 2+ years down the road for a UFA crop, it's never as good as you anticipate. One way or another, most guys get under contract.

I would wait a few more days before saying only 3 teams will have cap room.
Several teams are in position to make a trade or two and have cap room this summer.

Don't think so. Pretty sure Cavs matched three year offer at around $17M over 3 years and third year player option. That was a total waste of time for Varejao and proves that you never let your brother manage your affairs especially when you are not an agent and are making decisions from back home in Brazil!
