Atlantic Division Improves Pending Deal

I am just reading the the Kidd to Dallas deal is on the verge of happening again:
"The swap will send Devin Harris, DeSagana Diop, Trenton Hassell, Moe Ager and a signed-and-traded Keith Van Horn to the Nets for Kidd, Malik Allen and possibly a third player, Antoine Wright. The Mavericks also will lose first-round draft picks this summer and in 2010, along with the cash payment, the maximum allowed by the league. Cuban would not confirm the players in the deal - Dallas Morning News."

To me this deal makes New Jersey in a couple years a very good team. The picks, Harris, decent big and expiring contracts. With Boston still on top for the next few years, Philly improving, Raps improving and the Knicks (who knows)...I must admit I see the Atlantic Division being very a very interesting story in the next few years.

New Jersey and Philly still have a lot of moves to make before they pose any sort of huge threat in the near future. Both teams will still be looking for their future #1 player.

Miami, Orlando, and the Cavs already have great, young #1 options. With a few decent trades they'll continue to be the teams to beat in the East.

Those picks are crap, but they can be used to trade for another player.

I like Devin Harris but the Nets have a lot more rebuilding to go. Let's see what they do with Vince. If they can't unload him for value, they could wallow in the same space they are now for another 2-3 years.

I think the Mavs will regret trading Harris considering how many years he has left in him... thats IF the mavs dont win a championship wit Kidd

If Philly can get someone like Arenas or Brand this off-season then they'll be right there with us next year. They're currently the 8th seed now, and playing some solid ball.

I think the last thing Philly needs is a ball hog.

We should also be scared of a front court of Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph. Man the Atlantic Division is improving quickly.

Being 7 games under .500 is not playing solid ball.
