The Anthony Parker Appreciation Thread.

With tons of threads on Bargs, Bosh and Forderon, this savvy veteran barely gets exposure on this board partly due to his low key, underrated nature. Sure he contributes to our perimeter defense woes but he brings all the little things that we overlook such as hitting the clutch 3's or tapping balls in the passing lanes resulting in steals.

Over the past 6 games, the man has been averaging

20 pts, 6 reb, 2 ast on 53% shooting, 41% from the 3

He has shown he is a capable scoring threat for our team with his patented screen/curl move or pocket 3 but like our other players potent offensive players (Kapono), he doesn't get any plays and has to settle for the 'let the game come to him' motto. It's too bad he entered the league this late into his career and directly into a youth oriented team.

After all, you guys are all forgetting that this guy is the European MJ.

It's always a tendency to take greatness for granted :D

Parker's offense has been incredibly impressive this stretch without Bosh.

His mid range game is really where he makes his mark when he has to create for himself.

I hope he keeps up this level of assertiveness when Bosh returns.

Yep. I agree!

The most consistent player on our roster by far. I love A.P Im never mad at anything he does on the court, he makes watching the games fun.

AP is my favourite player on the raps. so dependable and consistent. You know what your going to get from him every game.

he needs to take more shots, maybe 18-20

he is a capable scoring threat, and should be avg 25PPG with bosh out.

AP is so underrated, it's not even funny. Every time I watch him play I wonder how good of an NBA player he could have been if he were about 5 or 6 years younger.

What type of player would Parker have been during his athletic prime?

Anthony, stop getting your passes picked !!

hehe, nah he's been playing great the past few games. Really stepping it up big time. Good stuff AP.

Now go do your job on Tuesday and hold Kobe to 5 points.

AP was the only wing player who showed up last season. As a result he had the best +/- on the team. His defense has slipped, but he is still a good player. Him and Rasho are just smart basketball players.

Its slipped a little but alot of it has to do with Sam sending him downlow to double team and that usually ends up making him look bad as they pass out to his man and they score.

Parker was the key last year IMO.
This year his role has diminished somewhat, but i still like him as a player, and now he can get more touches with Bosh out of the lineup.
