OT - 2008 Sports management conference - Anyone going?

Evening everyone
Getting ready for a big game tonight!

Just inquiring if anyone is going to the 2008 Sports management conference?

Nov- 10-11 at the Westin. A friend of mine works for fox sports in California told me about it and it looks amazing. A great opportunity to meet and greet with the sports elite.

Just wanted to get some thoughts and feedback to see if anyone else is going.

Is this like a job fair?

I see this as something where anyone of interest would be distant or only there for a little while. The only "pros" you would get to talk to would be a crappy Leafs TV host or some aging NHL guy who will explain to you "After I played 32 games in the NHL, I knew I needed something else. That is why I started my BBQ sauce line. blah blah blah."

If you have connections, and I hope the guys who are looking to get into this do, this seems like a cash grab.

Bryan Burke helping some schmuck get a job? Not bloody likely.

no its not a job fair.. read the pdf file it shows what is going on in the 2 day event

I read it. Nice event.

What would it offer to the average kid who just shelled out two rent payments, probably out of college or university, who would like to get in the industry.? Not for me, but I wonder what?

Im sure its attended mostly by people who are actually professionals in the industry, and have employers / own business paying for the course.
