OT - How would you improve ASW?

Skills competition out and Shooting Stars out.

In: 8 team 2-on-2 tournament.

Nelson/Dwight
Calderon/Bosh
Mo/LeBron
Wade/Marion
Nash/Amare
Parker/Duncan
Kobe/Gasol
Paul/West

Single-game knockout style tournament. Games to 21 (must win by 2). You telling me that wouldn't be more compelling than watching point guards throw a ball through a hoop?

1 on 1 or 2 on 2 would be the fantasy of so many fans.

Put something on the line to make the ASG more interesting (finals home court advantage ala MLB?) I'm probably in the minority but the ASG bores me to tears.

skills contest ........ keeping it kinda exciting when drunk
3 point contest no change
dunk contest 6-8 dunkers rather then 4

and you want to know how to do it ?

less commercials ... networks should just charge more for commercials and profit that way

Let me be the lone dunk judge. Or at least let some fans be the judges. Dr J is better than all these guys, so of course he ain't impressed.

The NBA needs to grow a pair, and go like the NHL, and basically make the Allstars be the skills participants. Would much rather watch Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Rashard, etc then guys like Nate Robinson or Kapono.

Considering how much everyone stresses "Dynamic Duos" and "Big Threes", I think 2 v 2 or 3 v 3 events on All Star weekend would be awesome. I guarantee that more people would watch that than the 'skills competition' and 'shooting stars' garbage.
