Race to MVP: Bosh back in the mix

Post#1 » by SirHuey » Fri Jan 15, 2010 5:41 pm

We work Bosh back into The Race after a lengthy hiatus. The Raptors better beat the Knicks in New York on Friday or he may be once again on the outside looking in. But if Toronto can continue the winning it has realized of late, the most productive power forward in the East should be a regular component of this column.

Deserves it big time. Hope that we end the "half-season" with 41-40 and he starts climbing higher on that list.

meh. bosh got a higher ranking in our 47-win season.

regardless. being 10th in the race is as good as being not in the race as the top 2-3 guys garner something close to 90% of the votes if not more.

Wade is an animal, more blocks than Bosh and Dirk.

Good to see him back on the list. But I agree that we have to beat New York, there worse then Indy and we almost beat them in a rough back to back. So no excuses for this one.

I like how casually they throw out "most likely free agent to leave" nowadays. Because if enough people say it, that must make it true.

And they are not the Golden State Warriors or Phoenix Suns, who relinquish more points simply because they think they can outscore you (which is the case with one of those teams but not the other; no hints, but you figure out the difference.)

Ok so is it the case with both those teams or just one of those teams...because he's saying both in the same sentence. Great writing. The actual sentence says that both of them relinquish more points because they think they can outscore you, then the bracketed part says only one team does that...LOL.

Anyhow..I don't know if I rank Bosh ahead of Billups right now, especially considering where Nash is ranked (and I have more of an allegiance to Bosh and Nash than to Billups), but seriously, if you give any definition of MVP, this guy is it. His numbers might not be as flashy as some guys, and I guess he does have a bit more talent around him than Bosh, but to not have a guy like him in the top 10 is kind of disappointing still. I think Howard should drop out, he hasn't been playing like he should be and his team is slumping bad, Bosh's teams results don't justify him placing over Billups (I mean if it was Bosh vs. Billups for MVP right now, I'd go Billups because his team with him is > Raptors with Bosh, although without him, the Nugs are still better than Raps without Bosh, Even Carmelo will admit that Billups is the MVP of that team, and some are still arguing whether Bosh is MVP over Carmelo....) I guess it just comes down to a statistics game, and Billups' numbers arent great compared to these guys.

Where's Melo? I think KD is a little high on the list. His team is a fringe playoff team.

Come on man, Show respect. look at his minutes and his production. Parker has foot problems and manu isnt himself either. Duncan is still carrying them in 32 mins a game and theyve been on a tear lately. Ill never understand how people under appreciate this guy so much. Guess you have to be over 15 years old to respect this guys game.
