Finals? I don't know but we'll definitely contend.

will that team even stop anybody??

Doubt it. The OP said it would 'easily' make this team viable for conference finals contention... which is utter crap.

Butler would be great addition to any team. I would be hesitant to give up Amir but if we can somehow include Haywood in this deal, we would be set. Jose, Amir, and Marco works for Butler and Haywood. But maybe thats dreaming.

Butler would be able to defend the 2 and he can play the 3 on offense because Hedo is much better when he has the ball in his hands. If Butler or Hedo don't mind coming off the bench, we would have the best 6th man in the league.

I hope this is true because it will push us into the top echelon of the East.

Also, thinking on it. Doesn't Washington already have a pair of young bigs to develop in McGee/Blatche? Sure, they haven't blown up yet, but I doubt they wanna trade for Amir to take minutes away from them.

They would be better then Cack/Hedo/Bargnani/Bosh defensively ...

not by much. Butler isn't some Battier like defensive stopper.

When your replacing arguable the worst defender on your team with a guy who by most people standards is average defensively ... thats a friken upgrade and then add the fact that Caron Butler is pretty decent rebounding avg 6 a game ... Anyone who doesn't think this is an absolutely steal for TO is nuts. We get the more talented player with the shorter contract ...

ITs a good deal, but don't see BC wanting to let go of AMIR unless we somehow get another defensive stud.

Say, if Bosh +crap went for Bynum for crap

and we flipped butler for jose and amir we would Have:

C: BYNUM
PF: Bargnani
SF: Hedo
SG: BUTLER
PG: Jack

vs:

C: Bargs
PF: Bosh
SF: Hedo
SG: Butler
PG: Jack

hmmmmm.... :P

caron butler sucks, timdunkit. i think lost in all the jose hate is just how bad butler has been this season.

So the latest scoop is that washington offered us butler and crittenton for amir and jose, however BC doesnt want to give up Amir or pick up crittenton in a deal. BC is really high on Amir and says he will do anything it takes to lock him up this summer.

If true, BC is incredibly stupid. Getting a 2-time all-star in Butler to put next to Bosh, the first all-star teammate he's had since Vince left in his rookie season, in exchange for a solid but redundant PG on a long contract, and a hustle big? Amir is nice but he's averaging less than 5pts and 5rbs this year, and he is the dealbreaker?!?

Wasn`t that SpriteZoner?

Because I remember getting on his case about the DD stuff in the summer.

I remember those threads. All the OP wrote was "if he's there, they'll take him!". Then Doug Smith reported BC was seriously interested in James Johnson.

Why give up Amir if you dont have too?? Why not wait and see what else can be done. Maybe hold out for Haywood if Amir is included in the deal. This is just the first real rumor we have heard, get ready there will be many more to come in the next few weeks.

Nah, you are underestimating the crappiness of the Raptors D off the bench. Actually does Caron play d?

One good thing about moving jose is it gives a chance for BC to evaluate his TURKEYPOO in a situation where he has the rock more often, and essentially erases the memory of the late great GM
BAbs forever
