Also I too hate Devlin, hes funny in that hes horrible.

I loved that call in the Denver game. Gus Johnson's my favorite announcer.

"OH CAUGHT!!! STOKELY!!! DOWN THE SIDELINE!!!! CAN YOU CATCH HIM?!!!!!! STOKELY!!!! WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!! DENVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS!!! WHAT A PLAY!!!! 87-YARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

If anyone deserves warranted hate, it's Leo. But that's old news.

This.

I don't mind Devlin at all. His fake laugh was annoying at first, but I've gotten used to it. He's a huge improvement over Chuck.

He calls the game better than Chuck, but I found Chuck a lot more fun to watch, especially when the Raptors are playing well.

They need to keep Leo in the studio more though. He's a prick.

This, the guy doesnt do it for me, infact ruins it. I need someone who can fake being interested better and not turn the game into a bore. He's one step above jack though ill give him that.

I don't have an issue with Devlin specifically.
I just wish they'd all be quite.

I'd like to watch a basketball game without someone chatting the whole time.
As fans with more basketball knowledge than the rest, I think we should try to petition for an announcer free game. Just court sounds.

They can come on at half time and between quarter to tell us what they think and give us highlights, but put a mic on the coaches bench and in huddles, aside from that... we hear the shoe squeeks, the play calls, the defensive help calls and the players as they jaw up and down the court.

But listening to someone who doesn't know basketball better than I do chat the whole time the game is on is like watching a game surrounded by my wife, her mother and her Aunts.

I don't think devlin's any better or worse than anyone else, I just think the whole idea of having a colour commentator is a joke.

I don't hate him, sometimes he's alright. A lot of the time he's hardly paying attention to the game, and way more often then not he calls people by the wrong name..... what up with that?

its leo that I can't stand...

LEO RAUTINS on players leaving their feet to contest an open jumpshot : "Why do players always do this ? its amazing ...how many times are you gonna block somebodies shot on the perimeter, YOU GOT TO KEEP DOWN !"

He does this every game and its annoying as hell, because at least 3 times a game somebody will get fouled on a jumpshot, its in the nature of us to react to pump fakes by shooters.

I don't mind Matt. He's more fun to listen to and to make fun of, especially him and Jack. You should hear them in between the commercial breaks. Him and Jack just blows it out.

I just wish they'd shut Leo. Leo is the worst--thinks he knows everything. Haven't you noticed that most of his sentences starts with 'I'--like 'I told you, Matt....'

But back to the topic: I don't think Matt would say he's not furious. It's just the director's too slow to cut to the reax that you think Matt was lying.

EDIT: Leo makes the players look like they don't know what they're doing. Why don't he try to be objective and say why that player is not doing his thing? Jeez.

Speaking of commentators, I love Walt Frazier. I swear the man carries a thesaurus with him.

Haha, agreed. At first I was put off because he sounds kind of stoned, but the man is a poet.

Agreed! In the game against Dallas, Dirk went in for a layup and Devlin gets all excited and blurts out "Turkoglu, right through the lane for a layup!" (Not exact words, but close enough).

I didn't like him at first but he's really grown on me. He's 20000x less annoying than Chuck, he busts Leo's balls, and he has just enough homerism to remind you that you're watching the Raptors feed.

Yeah. Good or bad, he's innocuous and totally forgettable. Chuck meanwhile could jump from enhancing my experience to ruining it for me. I'd rather take the white noise, which is what Devlin feels like to me most of the time.
