Trading Banks for Hassell would help us resign Amir.

Hassell was a guy i really liked when he was in Chi working the floor with Artest they were like rabid bit bulls on defense but since then.. Beh like someone said earlier reminds me of Hassam Adams as to his production... but hey was he not a big injury problem in MInny ?

I think that would be the motive.

Banks for Hassel is the only thing that makes sense for us. And it doesn't make sense for NJN. They gave away Carter for nothing to have cap space in 2010.

Walton's deal is enough for me to puke all over your trade.

Have you seen Jose's deal? You really want to pay that much for a guy who is your backup PG? I understand talent-wise, the two are nowhere close, but Jose's contract is just as bad as Walton's.

We prob add a 2nd rounder or two to sweeten the deal.

I dont' want Hassell... no need unless he actually plays some D. Rather have CDR, but not willing to give up much for him. Nocini would be nice from the Kings

love this song.

Btw, I`m all for Hassel if it means getting rid of Banks. I know we have Wright for that, but Wright can play 2-3 and we would have a better defensive line up. Hassel isn't an amazing defender, but for a Raptor, he would be a pretty good one considering we don't have good defenders. And thinking of playoff match ups, defense wins championships. We need more legitimate defenders to prevent things like Indiana dropping 130 on us

However, I could see something like this.

To LA: Calderon, Wright
To Toronto: Hayes, CDR, Walton, Dooling, Boone
To NJ: Morrison, POB, Weems

Saves NJ money, gets LA a PG and gets them out of Walton's contract, helps us big time.

Helps us big-time? Are you cracked? Or on crack?

Dooling is a good back-up PG.
Hayes can shoot and play decent defense.
CDR does everything Wright does, except he's younger and more talented.
Boone is solid 4/5 depth and expiring.
Walton is the only reason LA does this.

Dooling isn't making much and gives you a back-up PG for this year and next. He also is an expiring next season, so he, Evans, and Banks might be able to get you a really good backup 5 or PG at next year's trade deadline.

Boone and Hayes are both expiring, so that saves you some money to try and resign Amir.

And like I said, Walton is the only reason LA is involved, but his contract is half of Jose's long term, and that's tax dollars we'll save. Plus, if this hard cap is put in place, you don't want to have to deal with Jose's contract.

I didn't even mention CDR; he is the best young piece in the deal.

I'm never one to harshly criticize someone but that has got to be the worst deal I have ever heard. Are you Babcock????

Zero need for Hassell on the team, Wright is a lot better and younger.

Giving up Calderon to take on Luke Walton's long contract is absurd. Weems and Wright are actually decent ball players. And we shake up the team that much all for CDR and scrubs?? Give me a break, he's a mediocre prospect, a poor mans Courtney Lee, and Lee ain't that good to begin with.

The only way this would make sense for us is if we were doing this with the sole purpose of acquiring Hassel's 4.3 mil expiring.

This is from the NY post, I thought that paper wasn't legit?

Since when does Weems bring any kind of defense to the court anyway?

Yep, I think thats the deal that was offered, its more we want to get rid of Banks rather than we want Hassell.

Why would TO needs another below-average swingman? Hassell brings nothing special to this team. I wouldn't even do Banks for Hassell, but Hassell's expiring is attractive. Other than that, pass and no thanks.

I didnt even know Trenton Hassell was still in the league? He can't play anymore. Only thing hes good for is his expiring deal
That's what she said.
