Re: New Jerseys
We should only change the Jazz name to Yellowjackets if their plane crash in a remote location and they survive by resorting to cannibalism. Then it'd be perfect.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

This narrative is so **** tired.. sports teams generally are not accurately named based on their locationD_GoLow wrote:Is this going to evolve into a name change? I can easily see the note evolving into the side profile of a Bumble Bee. Jazz belongs in New Orleans.
Utah Yellow Jackets
New Orleans Jazz
Should Arizona teams be called the Grand Canyons?
Los Angeles Hollywood?
Chicago Pizza?
New Orleans Mardi Gras?
Minnesota Mall of America? (No one ever cares that they aren't the Lakers anymore)
New York Broadway?
Cleveland Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? (Just rolls off the tongue)
Nashville County Music?
Utah Jazz in the sports world is a staple. Everyone knows them, meme or not. It's not going anywhere

My observation is more tied to the color change. What does black and yellow have to do with Utah or Jazz? Or the history of the Utah Jazz?!?
I really loved in the past, how they used unique aspects of the region to make the Jazz unique to Utah starting in 97 to their multi colored city jerseys. But black and yellow? Really? It just seems lazy and my logic is simply trying to justify some bigger change down the line. I think of how when the Bobcats became the Hornets again.
This is not a moment, it's a movement

As soon as the Lakers give their name back to Minnesota, the Jazz will give their name back to New Orleans.
And Memphis and Toronto are going to need to change their names too as neither one of those places has those animals.

The new jerseys are awful and I agree they don't have much to do with Utah or the Jazz unless you think of bees (beehive state, or maybe Bumblebee from the transformers...), but there is no way it's heralding a name change.

Ok I get the connection with the Yellow and Black with Utah being the Beehive State.
