Was so happy he got picked! It was really a no brainer. JJJ and George were bad picks, Fox and Edwards were far more deserving. I feel Harden got screwed, more deserving IMO than Holiday.

Yeah, don’t understand PG pick but likely have to have someone from the Clips. JJJ is questionable.

JJJ has less than half the minutes of Anthony Edwards. Just doesn't make sense for JJJ to qualify with so much missed time and averaging 27mpg and rather unimpressive numbers. I mean I get that there weren't many impressive bigs this year out West, but JJJ!? I rather just give the honor to another guard like Edwards or Fox.AingesBurner wrote:dautjazz wrote:Was so happy he got picked! It was really a no brainer. A memory rule on spelling "Markkanen", one of the most – if not the most – misspelled names in the NBA
Mark Kane + n
Yeah, this is what the Bulls did with Markkanen's first Summer League jersey:

From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

Well deserved, he's been a revelation this season. I was getting nervous when the TNT crew was reading the allstar selections and only two names remained and his name wasn't yet called.
Draft Nate Wolters - FAILED
Keep Nate Wolters - FAILED

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Re: Lauri “The Finnisher” Markannen selected for All Star Game
Rotowire's update for starter Zion Williamson from January 24:
Snip:
If Zion isn't ready to go and they want to replace him in the starting lineup with another WC frontcourt player, seems like Markkanen and Sabonis should be the two leading candidates. Both are very qualified. Markkanen could get the edge based on the game being held in Utah.
Snip:
Zion Williamson. Out. Injury Hamstring. Est. Return 2/7/2023.
The Pelicans announced Tuesday (Jan 24) that Williamson will be re-evaluated in two weeks. Based on the upcoming re-evaluation, Williamson now looks to be in store for a return in the second week of February in a best-case scenario, but it wouldn't be surprising if the Pelicans elected to hold him out through the All-Star break.

Congrats Lauri.
I had ''thought'' of that Jazz regular season record would turn against Lauri's allstar selection but it didn't and that's good.
This also means that Ainge and Zanik has 2 years time to get Jazz at least playoff team.
The decision making for the future should start now not this summer.
Kessler and Lauri are the clear keepers but how the rest of team.
Time to get work mr Ainge 2 years is not much.

Well I'll be damned... God, what a clueless organization the Bulls are!

I like the quote- it makes me chuckle. And it was/is pretty much true.
