Re: 2024 Trade Rumors
I agree on the Meh. I'm not sure how this helps the Jazz much but the Clippers get well below the tax line and gain a bunch of flexibility in the trade market now. The Jazz aren't really hurt as Tucker and Bamba are neither likely to even see the floor in a Jazz uniform and are both expiring. The Jazz get a little cash and I'm not sure when the future 2nd is.

Looks like it will clear the Jazz a very decent amount of money at the end of the season (more than they sent out).
Bamba: $2,087,519 (expiring)
Tucker: $11,539,000 (expiring)
Eubanks: $5,000,000 ($4,750,000 next season, according to Bobby Marks it is non-guaranteed)
Mills: $2,087,519 (expiring)
Eubanks and Mills get to play for a competitive team, the Jazz get to clear more salary at the end of the season, receive second round pick and some money. Don't have any problem with it, maybe it will allow more flexibility down the road.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Great, another “accounting” deal
Hopefully we all live to see the day when the Jazz are about basketball again.

Hopefully, also means more minutes for Filipowski, which I completely support........

I just checked and it looks like it would be either the Clippers 2030 or 2031. Here is who owns the future Clippers picks (no incoming future picks):
2nd round picks
2025 - LA Lakers
2026 - Memphis or Houston
2027 - Atlanta
2028 - Charlotte or Detroit
2029 - San Antonio
2030 - Jazz have swap rights, but I suppose the 2nd round owned by the Clippers could be traded to the Jazz
2031 - Clippers own this pick
My guess is the traded pick most likely would be the 2031 pick.

Re: Clippers Trade PJ Tucker, Mo Bamba, Second-Round Pick To Jazz For Drew Eubanks, Patty Mills
Per the Clippers release, the 2nd is the 2030 2nd round pick. So essentially the Jazz went from having swap rights to the Clippers' 2nd round pick in 2030 from the Westbrook/Dunn swap, the Jazz now have the Clippers 2030 2nd round pick outright in addition to their own.

Apparently Eubanks was traded on his birthday. Like the honey badger, Danny Ainge just DGAF.

Re: Clippers Trade PJ Tucker, Mo Bamba, Second-Round Pick To Jazz For Drew Eubanks, Patty Mills
I like it. Two guys you signed short term who aren’t part of the future for an asset (even if small) is a win. And if we save money or have more cap space to do other things it’s an even bigger win. Plus Ainge is making moves while it’s stagnant so that’s a win. Smart to do these moves before then potential of Butler, Fox, LaVine and the rest of the dominoes falling and being a position of strength.
Sexton, Collins, Clarkson, etc can all be moved come draft or offseason if necessary. Still think we see more moves though.

Utah hopes to flip newly acquired PJ Tucker for another team’s salary dump to land more future draft pick capital, league sources told HoopsHype. If Utah is unable to flip Tucker in another trade, he’s expected to be bought out.
