How about Sene ?
Does anyone know how Sene is doing with Seattle ? I havent seen him play at all since he got drafted by Seattle. I think if the Jazz could come up with a shot blocking center and an experienced consistant PG the Jazz could be championship contenders. I just can't think of many decent shot blockers that play center that might be available. I think we would have to play Korver when Sene is in the game and we would have to play Okur when Brewer is in the game to keep the outside threat alive. What would Seattle want in return ? Is there any other shot blocking centers that might be available ? Looking forward to eveyone's input and suggestions.

I'd love to get a shotblocking center, but Sene is every bit as raw as Fesenko and wouldn't help us any more in the short term. That, combined with the fact that Fess has the potential to be exactly what we need down the road, means that we don't have much use for Sene, although he does have great potential.

Sene is lovely, but I have watched him play very very closely and he isn't making the progress expected. I am not too confident in his shot, and sometimes he seems lost in defense.
And no, he is not RAW anymore. He has gotten much better than when he got in the league. My fear with Fesenko is that he is becoming Collins+shotblocking. I am hoping he gets better offensively, but still pretty useless.

Collins, Hart and a 1st for Dampier
I'm not sure how that would work salary wise or why we would want to take on Dampier's fat, undeserved contract. He would be a good addition, but it would make a lot more sense to try and get Diop, who would also be able to help us out a lot. There's probably not much of a chance that Dallas would trade him for what we have to offer, though.

I haven't watched Sene much, so I guess I'll take your word for it, but are you sure he's not raw? He seemed pretty raw during summer league play and I have a hard time understanding why a polished seven footer with great athleticism and length would be languishing on the bench of one of the worst teams in the league. I'm not saying he hasn't improved, but I have a hard time believing he's not still pretty raw.
As for Fesenko, I think your fear is largely unwarranted. I realize that he's very raw, that he needs to get in better shape and that he has a long ways to go. However, I don't see the similarities with Collins. Collins entered the league as a relatively polished player with extremely limited upside. It was pretty much the exact opposite for Fess. He's strong, he's athletic, he's not afraid to dole out contact, he doesn't flop, he's a good rebounder and it seems like he's trying to develop a low post game. He's 21 years old and he's barely had a chance to play in the NBA. It's way too early to say that he's becoming anything, but it's not too early to say that he's got the potential to be pretty good--not only much better than Collins, but much, much different.

Sums it up right here. We don't need any more projects, we need a guy who can come in and play at least 10-15 MPG, and fit in relatively quickly.
