For real, whenever ANYONE is pushing around our guys, acting dirty or rough its matt who steps in and ALWAYS gets the best of them. Artest, Melo, Kmart, Hedo, Bowen, Matrix, Simmons, and thats just in the last 15 or so games. I love it.

+1. Matt's physical play as of late has really made me a fan of his again.

Soo true. I think that Matt gets a little more hate than he deserves. In all honesty he is a very important part of the Jazz.

Good to see Harp getting some love. In all honesty i don't think he would fight if it came to it. Just annoys other team then walks away.

As long as Matt is used correctly (like last night) he's a very valuable addition to this team. Its when he's asked to guard quick wings or just starts jacking up shots that we get frustrated. Last night was Matty at his best (except for the free throws . . .UGLY).

I don't know about everyone else, but I came away from last night's game with a renewed sense of respect for the Nuggets. I mean, we flat handed their asses to them in that first half, we go into the half up 15 and everything seemed to be going our way. But, somehow, they found a way to fight back and wrestle away control of the game from us.

I can't say that I like the ridiculous flopping tactics of AI, and I would have been happy to kick Martin and Najera in the scrotum for what they did to our guys.....but that team showed me a resiliency and grit that I didn't think they had. Pretty impressed.

Additionally, it looks like the stats don't lie, and that their defense has really improved. Camby is just a damn fine player, and if we had him on this team, I would put us at 2-1 favorites to win it all.

We'll see how the Nuggs react in our house, but you can count me as being highly surprised, and deeply impressed.

It kinda pisses me off, actually.

He was the one to stand up to the thuggish assaults by Najera and the blue-light special. K-Mart should be suspended for as long as Ronnie Brewer is out due to that flagrant foul last night. Najera's takedown was comical, and he's lucky the refs and players broke it up before things got started, because I really think Harpring would have punched his lights out after that play last night.

I like physical basketball, but I detest it when things get dangerous and guys start trying to legitimately hurt each other. Its funny that Denver wanted to dish it out, but when the jazz responded, they got all upset. Terrible reffing on both sides didn't help things, certainly.

That seems about right. I can see how he could get over used, but could be a good energy guy off the bench in limited minutes. I was just curious if Jazz fans saw him as a dirty player at all.

I can understand why as a Jazz fan you would be upset about the hard foul on Brewer. But I don't think it was anything intentional. He went for the ball, unfortuantely he missed the ball and got more neck then anything else. Kinda like what happened with Thornton and TJ Ford a few months ago. It always sucks when a guy gets hurt, but that doesn't mean he was trying to hurt him. I actually don't think it should have been a flagerant, and probably wouldn't have been if Brewer didn't land so hard and akwardly.

Go back and watch the foul again. He hit him in the head first, then he grabbed him shoulder on the way down and shoved him hard to the ground. Thats where the flagrancy came into play...the shot to the head could've been played off as unintentional, but it was the second part of the foul that showed that it wasnt.

When I first saw it it looked like Martin was throwing him to the ground. But they showed a different angle and in that angle it didn't look at all like he was throwing him to the ground, Brewer was just falling wrong.

Of course I could be wrong, I did only see that angle once. Regardless of what it looks like it was still harder than it needed to be.

Attendance: 16,865

At least 2,500 empty seats against the main division rival and leader? Pathetic, we would have sold out for sure.

just read the whole thread and...

Ok guys, a fair question here:

What does "box out" mean?

Thanks.

its when you use your butt to get everybody out of your "box" in front of you so you can get the rebound.

ps. was more relieved than excited last night. i hate OT games.

Thanks man, I apreciated it.

About what denvers_finest said about Martin, you re probably right, but the thing is the guy has a historic of being dirty. May be dirty is not the right word, but I remember clearly when he was playing for The Nets and he shoved Malone for like 10 feet away, when Malone was going to the basket. I hate him ever since for that.
