Still Missing that Killer Instinct

Post#1 » by HouseofBoozer » Sat Feb 9, 2008 7:46 pm

We won ten games in a row before last nights loss so I'm not going to rip on our Jazz. However when we went up by a couple of buckets there in the 3rd I thought that they would hit the gas and blow them out. This team has yet to consistently put teams away when they have had the chance, for example Denver on Wednesday. Hopefully they will get that before the playoffs because I think we have all the tools in place to win a championship. This is a crazy year and as Ernie and Charles say, if you're in the western playoffs, you're contending for the championship.

I think that this team has everything. We have a good starting lineup with Deron, AK, Boozer, Ronnie B., and Memo, and at the same time we have a very strong bench with Harpring, Millsap, Korver, Price, Miles and Collins. As much as I hate to say it, we have a very great coaching staff with Jerry Sloan, Phil Johnson, Ty Corbin, Scott Layden, and Jeff Hornacek. We have good team chemistry, but sometimes just don't execute. I think that we are going to come out in the playoffs and seriously surprise some people, as we did last year. People better watch out for the Utah Jazz, cus we're gonna be the 07-08 NBA champs!

Come on, he had to lose somewhere, I am glad it was on the road against a tough team.

If we win tonight against The Bulls we re gonna be fine.

Yeah, I might take my last comment back if we lose to the Bulls tonight.

Kinda OT, but did any of you guys see this?

CBS Sportsline ranked every teams PG's SG's PF's SF's and C's and than put them together to find a team ranking, and guess which team landed on top of those rankings. Damn right.

I think honestly we do have the best group of players in the league. It's like if the nba was assembled in the school yard, we'd be the team everyone would go, oh crap!, how'd they pick such a good team! This is a good team. We are on the verge of being a Great team! This year in the Western Conference is like the year we just saw in college football. Anybody in contention can win it. I've watched the Jazz since I can remember and this team will learn to step on peoples throats and when they do we will get a ring. Thats my prediction. When they can close out close games CONSISTENTLY they will be sporting a championship. We have 5 threats on offense on the floor at almost all times (minus when Hart and Collins are in the lineup) and teams really can't leave anyone. Our defense has been stepping up lately. I feel optimistic, but games that we are in need to be closed out. Sactown has our number in Arco, so they deserve a pass on final grade despite the loss. However I wanna see them close out a big game on the road against either Dallas, San Antonio, or LA. Anyone else I am 100% confident we could beat in a 7 game series.

Not to say we don't have one of the best teams, those stats are very deceptive. They're just that, stats, numbers, that don't include intangibles and only measure offensive numbers by quantity.

For example, AI is number two among SGs. But based on seeing him one night and Kevin Martin, who is 22nd, I'd say Martin is better. And Manu is only 17th. Manu is probably better than anyone on the list except Kobe, and in the clutch. I would take Manu over anyone.

And that is with the 23rd best sg.
