Basketball is a contact sport played on a hard surface. It would get on hands. It would get on the floor. The quality of the game would suffer. Your solution is no solution at all.

I found it a little funny that people make a big deal about his headband, but make no mention of Korvers socks. Because Korvers socks are and have been a violation of the Sloan dress code, they just made a Ben Wallace type exception for him.
What? no they arent.

Everyone has to be uniform, you can wear regular or low cut. Ronnie Brewer has worn long socks forever and wasnt allowed to when he came here. They even made mention of whether Korver would be able to wear his trademark socks. The only time I have ever seen a player wear a headband and long socks was Deshawn Stevenson during a throwback night at home.

You know, you could have just come over to the Pistons board and asked why he still wears it, instead of assuming a reason, and/or making something up.SomeBunghole wrote:The argument is that many players use these "fashion statements" to stand out on TV. I mean, it's kinda hard to miss Ben Wallace when you watch the Bulls, because he's the only big guy out there with a headband and a 'fro.
And most of these fashion statements, like Rip Hamilton's ridiculous mask, serve no actual medical or beneficial purpose. A little old for a safety blanket, aren't we Rip?
Headbands serve no practical purpose. If you have a problem with sweat getting in your eyes, you either stop plucking and styling your eyebrows, or take some Vaseline and rub it into them.
RIP wears the mask becuase after having broken his nose so many times during play, that if he breaks it again, he will require surgery on the bone on the bridge of the nose, and he'll be out for weeks of playtime.
Wearing the mask is a necessity, not an option. RIP doesnt want surgery, and I for one dont blame him.
