JAZZ TUESDAY UPDATE: Kirilenko will play tonight

Posted: 3:18 PM- CHICAGO -- Eight days after he was dropped to the floor by Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki and suffered a sprained right hip, Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko plans to return for tonight's game against the Chicago Bulls.

"I don't feel any pain, I'm just kind of scared a little bit," Kirilenko said at the Jazz's pregame shootaround Tuesday. "You know, some steps, long steps. But it's going to go away when game starts."
Kirilenko was taken down by Nowitzki in the first quarter of the Jazz's March 3 victory over Dallas. Instead of conceding an open layup to Kirilenko, Nowitzki came down on Kirilenko's shoulder and neck and then pulled him hard to the floor.

Although Nowitzki was only assessed a first-degree flagrant foul, the NBA later upgraded it to a second-degree flagrant foul and suspended Nowitzki for one game. Kirilenko wound up missing three games and said he was glad to be returning relatively quickly.

"As short period of time you're missing, you know it's better because you can't lose your game shape," Kirilenko said. "It's very important, especially at the end of the season that it doesn't take you longer to get better."
