OT: Which player do you like or not and why (not a Jazz man)
Hey guys.
Kind of OT but there in no Jazz game today, so, I wanted to share, and most importantly know what are your toughts about this: Which player or coach do you like or not, and why. I mean, what they did to you feel that way. Its not to say like "I like Lebron 'cause he's amazing", ok?.
I will share mine, and let me know yours ok?
Players that I dont like:
Carmelo Anthony: I hate him since he said that he deserved to go to the All Star instead of Andrei Kirilenko. What a idiot for saying that.
Oh yeah I hate him too because that punch he gave in a Knicks player. "Melo punchs like a girl. Sup Bro?"
Scott Pippen:
Once when he was playing for Portland and they defeated The Jazz (99-00 playoffs), the cameras showed him laughing out loud on the beach. That hurt me bad, and I hate him ever since, hehehe Well, now I dont hate him that much.
Players and coaches that I like:
Cutino Mobley: I like him for a long time since he said this after The Jazz have beaten his team (Houston, at the time): "Thats why Malone is the best power foward to ever play the game". I thought someone saying that after losing a game was very classy.
Greg Popovich: Always a classy guy, when The Jazz finally beat them at home with Memo beating the buzzer, he said "I kind of fell happy for them (The Jazz)". The guy said he was happy for the oponent wining his team. He knew how bad The Jazz needed that win, we were having a terrible season. Very, very classy guy. And he always praised Sloan's work.
If I remember more, I will put them here.
Now, the usual suspects, please?
Regards,

Players I dislike:
Kenyon Martin-This is a prime example of a "fake tough guy", he always cheap shots or picks fights with guys smaller than him.
Byron Scott-Haven't like him since he denigrated Malone during a game, how can he as a role player, talk trash to the best pf to play the game? pure balls.
Matt Harpring-er, I know this goes against the topic, but I have to say I dislike harpring's game. Maybe the worst defender I have ever seen. Hey did you guys know he played football? wow.
Players I like:
Baron Davis-ok, as a warriors/jazz fan, I am a little biased, but davis is maybe one of the most exciting and clutch players in the league today.
Tim Duncan-Doesn't say anything, doesn't show any emotion, he just kills your team.
Chris Paul-so he's over-hyped, the guy doesn't ask to be the center of attention, his play does the talking. I love his game, the guy can do everything. with a budding rivalry with D-will, he has made it fun to watch hornet-jazz games.

Don't like:
Carmelo Anthony: all the reasons everyone else said. he still acts cocky when his team gets blown out by 30. he's a good player but overrated and a terrible defender.
Yao Ming: Seriously, i don't know exactly what it is about this guy that annoys me so much. it might be unjustified...it's just that face he makes when he's upset at a call which is ALL THE TIME, i have never seen him not make a face, throw his shoulders down and complain at a call, even obsvious ones.
Shaq: Sure, the man has had a great career. I just can't stand reading interviews with him and hearing him speak in the third person, using one of his 10,000 self-proclaimed titles. Seriously, the great players of all time didn't have to make up their own nicknames. Then he'll do things like ignore Duncan when he taps him on the chest and reaches down his hand to help him up, he just looked the other way and totally disrespected Tim.
Like:
Tayshaun Prince: just love his game, great on both sides of the court. I think he's a but underrated, and he just seems like a good dude.
Tim Duncan: Doesn't feed the media machine, doesn't get overemotional, isn't cocky or full of himself, but he's a dam good player. does his job without getting caught up in all of the other b.s.
Lebron James: Really didn't used to like him much until i saw how he supported his teammates, and how outgoing and friendly he really is. i think he's better than kobe and he makes players around him better, without the stupid attitude.

I have always had a lot of respect for Allen Iverson. I think he has really matured over his career. He plays 40+ minutes every night, doesn't talk trash (anymore) and is tough as they come. He gets hit all the time and plays his butt off every night. Melo could learn a lot from him.
And I had to stick up for Harpring after the hate he got on this thread. How can you be a jazz fan and hate this guy? He knows his role off the bench, and I love when he gets opposing players and fans upset. I would hate to play against him, but love having him on our team. And that freethrow jumper off the curl is pure.
And, like others I hate Kenyon Martin more than any player in the NBA. Whenever he gets a dunk he bangs his chest and singles himself out from his team. Dude, act like you've been there before. Remember when the Jazz were going to make a run at him in free agency before they surprised us all and got Boozer? Thank God.

I hate Kobe. He is always so cocky, it annoys me. Then that one game where the officials gifted him 3 free throws on a phantom foul against Devin Brown really PO'd me. THEN after teh game he was talking about how they had to call that foul because Devin practically tackled him. ARRRRGH. Hate that guy.
I like Nick Collison, I think he'd be a terrific Jazz player. He always crashes teh offensive glass, and he's got no real weakness to his game, good defender, and can hit the 18 footer.
Barbosa seems like another guy I'd like. Fast as hell, knows his role and always has a smile. He could play for the Jazz anytime.

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I'm a hater:
Kobe Bryant - Amazing basketball player with phenomenal talent, but IMO a crappy excuse for a human being. Exemplifies everything that is wrong with the NBA.
Isaiah Thomas - Hated him as a player, hate him as a coach. The guy is just shady.
Tracy McGrady - Don't know why, just can't stand him.
I'm a Lover
Steve Nash - Hard nosed, tough little bastard. Very Stocktonesque in that he plays hard and doesn't talk much.
Corey Maggette - Anyone that plays for the Clips and keeps playing hard has heart. Wish we could've gotten him.
Al Jefferson - Dude is a throwback, old-school type player. Hard nosed and tough, brings it even though his team sucks.

I guess I'll just never understand some people.
My most hated:
Bruce Bowen -- cheap-shot artist who I lost all respect for last year during the playoffs.
Shawn Marion -- Anyone remember that game in Phx a few years back where he went at Harpring? Ya... Douchebag.
Sasha Vujacic -- I want to punch the little girl in the face.
Kenyon Martin -- Way overrated, punk attitude, and one of those guys that treats everyone on the court like the scum of the earth.
My most liked:
Lebron -- I know, easy response... but watching him is unbelievably entertaining. He makes everyone around him better and dominates the competition at the same time -- its amazing. His off-the-court side is really likable too -- at least thats the perception I get from reading stuff. I just like the man... :nohomo:
Tayshaun Prince -- One of the most underrated players in the league. Smart, versatile, and defensive-minded.
Brandon Roy -- He is so fundamentally-sound... No flash or gimmicks to his game. He just gets it done and is not intimidated by anybody. No talk, just play. A breath of fresh air...
