+20 Boozer's game has been collapsing, with the exception of the last game. He is not near as dominant anywhere on anything. I remember when he was top 3 in rebounders, and he began the season in top 5 scoring. He has become a big time liability, and at times, we feel that him being injured helps us more to be consistent than not.

Carlos Boozer is also worrying me to. I can survive with his grotesque defense as long as he puts those 25+ PPG, but he is lucky now to hit 20 as of late, and very much lucky if he gets 8+ rebounds.

I dont know why this didnt quote your whole post, but I dont really care, because its mostly just bumbling nonsense anyway. So a game is won and lost in 48 minutes, you say? I couldnt agree more. And for 48 minutes, Kirilenko was sh*tty.

No point in arguing with you. I'll save it for people who have cases worth picking apart. Going up against you is like me blocking the shot attempt of a 4 year old.

AksWll basically sums it up he took the same gamble he did against redd different results, and thats how the game ended. But lets say AK pokes it away, then all of us are praising him. Saying what a smart play by Andrei, Korver just got unlucky had 2 wide open 3'sand missed em both, were supposed to be able to count on him to make those big shots, but they rimmed out, Jazz matchup poorly with the nets, theres not a whole lot of teams that have 2 guys that can fly and knock down shots. And Devin harris is just too damn fast, but on the bright side, we wont have to deal with him if we face the mavs in the playoffs and that increases our chances greatly. So while I got pissed off that we blew this game as much as the next guy, its really no big deal anyway. we are where we want to be IMHO. would rather be the 4th seed and play the 5th and take on the 1st then play the 6th team then move on to the 2nd team. Just if possible stay away from LA and SA.

Yeah, like i said, Boozer made up for what he gave up with 41 points. And i'm just as mad as anyone else that AK made a horrible decisions in crunch time (p.s.: the 3 pointer he took was not one of them, he's been hitting them and he had a good look. sometimes they just don't fall).

Sometimes I wonder thought, could we be a great team with AK at his true position (the 4 spot) and without Boozer? What have the games we've played without Boozer shown? If you don't remember, google "jazz vs. lakers, andrei kirilenko, triple double".

I'm not giving up on Booze, i've seen his monster potential; just why isn't he living up to it NOW?

There is no way the Jazz could be a success with AK at the 4 full time. He's already as injury prone as they come, imagine him banging against NBA 4's all season...

Don't even mention the Jazz beating the Lakers without Boozer unless you also mention the Jazz beating the Mavs and Suns without AK.

There is no way AK is more valuable to the Jazz than Boozer. Not even close.

As for the Nets game, AK gave us nothing all game long. He blew it in the final minute, but he also blew it for the previous 47 minutes. He might as well have not even played. The Jazz would have actually been better without him.

The problem with AK is a lot of his skills aren't needed by the Jazz. For example, the Jazz don't need him getting a lot of assists because Deron is usually the one setting up the offense. The Jazz do need his rebounding, blocked shots, and steals, but before the season is over he will be averaging career lows in those areas. And obviously his man to man defense is pretty crappy, so he doesn't help there either. So what exactly does he bring to the team that is so valuable? When his jump shot is on that seems to be pretty valuable, but he made it clear last year that he does not want to be a spot up shooter- he wants the ball.

He will be moved in the offseason. I have no doubts about that.

You know how Boozer has been playing terribly as of late? Now that Kirilenko is finally normalizing, Boozer gets a 41 point game.

There is a correlation, and that is because the greatest tandem isn't Williams/Boozer but oddly enough it is Kirilenko/Boozer. When Kirilenko is on the floor, Boozer is most effective and shines the team most

http://82games.com/0708/ppairs0708.htm

Kirilenko and Boozer tandem have a total net points of +240 which is the highest on the team.

You remember when Kirilenko was a living triple double earlier the season? Take as an example the month of November, in which Kirilenko was averaging 6.8 reb and 5.6 ast and Boozer was averaging simoultaneously 24.9 PPG which is his highest total by month if you exclude the season opener against G-State in October.

Kirilenko isn't allowed to play his game, then Boozer is the one affected.

Did you knew too that in games lost, Boozer averaged 22.8 ppg and much lower FG% and FT% compared to 20.8 ppg and better percentages.

I am just saying.

All those stats, and yet the Jazz are a better team when AK misses the games.

Face it, there is no imaginary intangible AK brings to the team anymore. he used to be a hustle player, but now he is averaging career lows in all the hustle catagories.

The Jazz don't care about AK's assists. D-Will gets plenty of them already. As long as D-Will is running the offense, they don't need AK getting 6 assists per game.

Back when AK was averaging a near triple double, the Jazz were playing all the worst defensive teams in the NBA. It made everyone's numbers look better, not just AK and Boozer's.

Every once in a while AK has a great game, but it isn't worth the 5-10 bad games in between.

If the Jazz move AK and keep Boozer they better get a hell of a defender (not that AK is one, really) or two because CLEARLY Boozer is not contributing more than he is giving up as of late (since January). Just watch him carefully in a game. Pay attention to how many times some scrubb like Mikki Moore goes right by him for an easy dunk or lay-in, and it will start driving you insane. In order to just counter the effects of his terrible, lazy defense, he has to be putting up about 35 and 9 every night. And I emphasize again that we have a winning record without Boozer during the last two seasons, as well as AK.

Well Boozer clearly outscores and outrebounds his matchup FAR more often than AK. He also makes less money than AK.
AK is the one that has to go.

Yes because we signed Boozer before he was an all star, if you think that he wont get a MAX deal you are mistaken, AK is still our best defender on our team,so he made a gamble that didn't pay off, it did against the bucks.

Nah we should trade him cause he made this one series of mistakes. All the blocks against the Bucks don't matter, this is cut throat risky.

It's not just that one series of plays... With a few exceptions here and there, AK has been pretty crappy for over 2 years now.

So you guys are saying AK makes the max specifically for his blocks then? Heck, I'll take it one step further and say AK makes the max for his defense. Does that sound fair?

Well, he has NEVER been a good man to man defender, as evidenced by New Jersey calling an iso play on him with the game on the line (and it paying off for them). No way would they call a timeout and draw up an iso play on AK if he was even a decent 1 on 1 defender.

So we'll look at his help defense...

At this particular moment, AK is averaging career LOWS in blocks and steals, and he is only .1 over his career low in rebounds (set last year). He will without a doubt be averaging career lows in all of those stats before the season is over.

So, again, why are we paying this guy the max? Why should we hang onto him?

AK is clearly the one that needs to go. Boozer may not average as many blocks as AK (he only averages about 1 block per game less though) but he scores and rebounds a TON more than AK, with a better shooting percentage, and Boozer is actually averaging MORE steals than AK right now.

I watched that Bucks game. They called plays for Redd 4 times in the end of the game:
- Redd dribbled pas AK but Ak reached and got a steal
- Redd dribbled past AK but Brewer poked (or fouled - based on Redd's reaction) the ball away on layup
- AK denied the pass to Redd but Redd made short backdoor cut for layup
- Redd dribbled past AK but AK blocked him from behind.
I should be on Lacob payroll...

Hi guys, didn't want to start a new thread, just wanted some input.

I have been interested in Kirilenko all season long, and have kept an eye on his stats. I also know that his best seasons came playing a watered down power forward for you guys.

How do you think he would do as a power forward again? I know it may not be feasible out west, where there are a couple more PF bangers, but perhaps in the East?

Would you guys be interested in a swap based around Kirilenko and Hedo Turkoglu? It would give you guys a true three (as some have suggested Kirilenko is not) and (hopefully) provide Orlando with a good counterpart next to Dwight. I don't think AK would do too well at the 4 next to a center like Okur, but next to a big guy like Dwight, I think he could return to his old form (plus the change of scenery may do him good). A front line of Dwight, Andrei, and Rashard (who gets to go back to the 3) is definitely something that brings every aspect of the game.

With Hedo, you get similar playmaking skills, above average rebounding for a SF, and great outside shooting. He has also become very good at driving to the basket and finishing and 1's, and his defense isn't as bad as people make it out to be (he defended Lebron 1 on 1 at the end of a game earlier in the season and came away with a game-winning steal). I think something based around these two could be great for both teams, but my question remains, how do you see Kirilenko doing as the 4 in Orlando? Any constructive input is much appreciated, thank you.
