Carlos Boozer

Post#1 » by babyjax13 » Fri May 9, 2008 9:29 pm

This board lately seems to be littered with trade threads, or bashes on our players, and after the way some of our guys have performed I honestly can't blame you. In particular I think there is one player who has hurt us a lot in the playoffs, Carlos Boozer. Right now he is only averaging 15 and 11 on 42% field goal shooting, and 73% free throw shooting. I honestly think that he's just not had many match ups in his favor, Mutumbo and Gasol are too long for him to easily get his shot off in the paint. But then you look at last year in the playoffs where he averaged 24 and 13, and destroyed Yao Ming, so you have to wonder, is that really the problem? Now there have been various reports of a back injury floating about, but we don't have a clue how bad it really is, or if the rumors are even true. But if they are you have to look back earlier in the season when Memo also had a back injury, and everyone was hopping on the bandwagon to trade him, but now that he's back to his normal self, and going insane on offense and on the boards we know that the back was really affecting him, and that there wasn't a good reason to trade him.

My problem with this scenario isn't Boozers play, it is his health. We all know what happened with the hammy, we all know that Carlos has had lots of injury problems while he's been on this team, but if he's having problems with his back, why is he playing? I don't want one of my franchise players getting injured and having to retire early, or losing his ability to play at a high level (see Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, and BILL WALTON), I just want him ready to go next year.

I dont think Boozers back is anything to be overly concerned about, im sure it gives him some pain but im sure derons ass isnt to great either. Penny and Grant if I recall it was their knees. I trust the jazz and briggs that his back isnt bad. they wouldnt have him playing if it was a huge problem.

dont make excuses for him... nothing has been reported, so as far as i'm concerned he's healthy and needs to man up and play to the level of his ability. He just needs to play basketball like he knows how, plain and simple.

it is a combo of him being in a slump and the length of the defense, He did well on Yao because the big guy is so slow.

Even when Boozer is playing like his normal self, his defense and decision making are so poor that he almost gives away as many points as he scores.

So when he's ineffective on offense like recently, he's like a pure negative to this team...

What a great game by Boozer tonight. It was nice seeing the Boozer we all know and love, and not that pansy ass girl we saw in games 1 and 2.

Yeah that play was odd. It seemed like all the LA players were stuck in slow motion.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Yes, our beloved Carlos took to mooing deliriously again, as if he had mad cow disease...

As for that offensive rebound, none of the Lakers thought he would miss so badly, the ball hitting only under the right-hand side of the rim. Carlos went for the offensive board and saw the ball at his knees, that's all. It's not like he had a close miss and made a superhero jump to the rim...
even beethoven had his critics. name three of them.
