This first half is exactly why Okur needs to get the **** out.
When he is on the floor with Boozer , we're horrible defensively.
We lost a 15-17pt lead when he replaced Millsap. The defensive intensity is just not there.
WHEN , WHEN will this team become a good defensive team. When will we have the mentality as a team that Millsap is showing ??
Get us a good defensive center !
What do we trade AK for this offseason?

I'm against trading Andrei but in order to resign Deron, the jazz have no choice but to trade him. 12 mil a year for AK is alot for someone who puts up average numbers (sorry AK T.T)
It might be best to trade him to the east along with the 23rd pick to a team that has a high draft selection for this year and cash. Michael Beasley would do wonders for the jazz but his too far out of reach to get.

If Kirilenko doesn't get them out of the lottery, they're not going to take on his salary and give up a top-5 pick for him. As you point out, they've gotten rid of Isaiah.
Ha!

Exactly. If we're gonna trade him for expiring and picks, let's at least have him here for another year. He's getting paid too much for what he does, but he is still the best SF we have. No need to trade him before we absolutely need it.

If we are going to move him I would rather do it now rather then later. Waiting on him to hope he comes around is going to be a waste, and I think it's safe to say his stock is higher right now then it was last offseason. You never know what happens with him next season, if he gets injured, or plays crappy again he will be impossible to trade. And with CJ coming up, Brewer improving, and having Korver why keep the biggest road block in place?

The question is when do we need it. *If* the main goal is to save salary for 2009-2010, that means we need to trade him for expirings...this year. If we wait to trade him for expirings until the summer of 2009, it's too late, because the salary will be on the books in '09-10 either way; we'd need to trade him to a team that is way under the cap.

Didn't know about that. I'd love to keep AK, but if Larry Miller isn't willing to pay the luxury tax, I think we all can expect an AK trade this summer.

In my opinion our main weakness is inside defense. Okur is the guy that needs to go.
I think he has a player option at the end of next year , furthermore :
- He is shooting horrible in these playoffs ...again !
- He can't make a basket in the paint , one of the worst players in the league in inside percentage (check 82games.com)
- Doesn't grab any offensive rebounds
- No weak side shotblocking at all
- Is soft
- Has no back to the basket game
What we need is a tough defensive minded player , that can score with his back to the basket. A guy like Kaman or even Bogut.
Trade whoever you want to get one of these two (except Deron). Good inside defense wins championship.
okur > boozer and ak in playoffs this year...however boozer will come back from his slump, ak won't, he needs to go.
