Here is my plan (sorry, I'm stealing your format  )

NBA Draft:
I think the Jazz need to to 1 of 2 things in the draft
1. Trade the 1st round pick along with Hart and/or Collins for a decent backup big-man (I'm not talking Gadz here, Maybe someone like Johan Petro, Steven Hunter, or Fabricio Oberto).

2. Draft the best possible player available in the first round, and groom him like they did with CJ, and are currently doing with Almond.

I also think that the Jazz need to really consider what kind of players they can get for the mle.... If we can sign someone like Chris Duhon for part of the mle to sure up our backup point gaurd spot we should be set. Another thing we have to look into is trading Hart and Collins for a big TE, and use it to sign a couple of decent free agents (Maybe Collins, Hart, and Almond for the Golden State TE; it would be about 6.6 mill)... Then we could most likely get a Duhon type player, and maybe David Harrison.

The next thing I would do is get a third string power forward to develop from the second round of the draft. I think Omar Asik and Sasha Kaun are the perfect candidates to fill that role.

I also don't think that we should trade any of our good players (Boozer, Brewer, Deron, Memo, AK, Korver, Millsap, ect.) unless we get an absolute
steal (like LA did with Gasol).

Lastly, no getting desperate and throwing away our young guys for players exiting their prime like Michael Redd, and Baron Davis (don't want to end up like Dallas).

I think that if we did all of these things we would be ready for an even deeper run than we had this year....

I would like this to be our 2008-2009 team:
PG: Deron Williams, Ronnie Price, Chris Duhon
SG: Ronnie Brewer, Kyle Korver, C.J. Miles
SF: Andrei Kirilenko, Matt Harpring, C.J. Miles
PF: Carlos Boozer, Paul Millsap, Omar Asik/ Sasha Kuan/ first round pick (whoever is more nba ready)
C: Mehmet Okur, David Harrison, Kyrylo Fesenko

D-league: (pick two) Kuan, Asik, or the first rounder (most likely Hibbert or Ajinca)

This is the most realistic scenario and i think it's a mistake. Utah won't win the championship with Okur and Boozer. Those two guys do not improve defensively . They are just as bad as last year in this area.

We need a big that will defend the basket if we want to stand a chance in the future with teams like the lakers (with bynum).

I think the jazz should try very hard to get a guy like Chris Kaman. A real big man. This guy would do wonders next to Deron Williams , and he would boost our defense. He is a real anchor (top 3 shot blocker this year) and Deron , Kirilenko and Brewer would be very happy to have a guy like that behind them.
Statu quo won't cut it.

Kaman has had one good year, all because he does not have Brand next to him... I'm not opposed for trading for him, but I don't think he'll have as big of an impact as you think he will.

Kaman looked pretty good to me. Not even talking about his numbers. He looked pretty good on the floor.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Maybe he doesn't put this kind of rebounding numbers next to Brand. His scoring may even have dropped .
Even though , let's not forget that the point guards Kaman was playing with were Smush Parker , Brevin Knight and Dan Dickau ...
Imagine what he could do with Deron at the point !?
Kaman with his size and hands is a good finisher inside. He is also a fairly good free throw shooter. He would be great next to Deron.

But more importantly , his impact would come on the defensive side. He is huge , and when he is under the basket you have to deal with him , because he won't avoid you like Boozer and Okur. No way Gasol get those offensive rebounds against Kaman. No way the Lakers get layups all series long. Kaman is tough. Gasol would have been crying for real if he had to play Kaman for a whole series.
Deron said very recently that Utah lacked a guy like Araujo. Well , Kaman is just as though as Hoffa.
He would transform our team defensively. A good defensive center is huge for a team. Kirilenko has never played with a good defensive center behind him in the nba , same with Deron and Brewer. I'm sure one of those three players would get voted on a defensive team if Kaman is our starting C.
