What Options should the Jazz explore this summer?

Hey guys now that the season is over we all should not feel dissapointed by the outcome of the LA series to me this season was a success and we will only get better with time. I am curious to hear from fellow Jazz fans on what options should the Jazz explore this summer before next season starts.

1) - Look for a big defensive minded center through Free Agency like Diop or Foster.

2) - Find a center through the Draft and continue building through draft with the right prospects.

3) - Miami is openly considering trading the #2 pick if Chicago does select Rose. Do we trade Boozer to Miami for the #2 pick in the draft and select Beasely to pair up with DWill.

I am curious as to your opinions to option 3 because alot of Jazz fans are concerned after the performance of Booz during the playoffs. He didn't show up but that doesn't mean we should give up on the guy. I think that Booz will only grow stronger next year and leave this year going into next with a chip on his shoulder. I am all for one not openly trading Booz for someone like Beasley just because we all know what Booz brings to the table but some of us has to wonder would Booz bolt for Miami after next season. I mean we all know that his wife doesn't like Utah and they live in Miami in the offseason. One has to wonder if the Jazz would consider trading Booz to Miami for the #2 pick. This summer could get very interesting for Jazz fans.

I dont see Utah taking a chance by trading a nba 3rd team guy for a rookie who hasnt done jack and we will never know if he will be good let alone great.

Also, Milwaukee is openly shopping Michael Redd. I would like to see the Jazz trade Andrei for him. Their contracts are nearly the same and the trade works. Assuming we could pull of the Boozer for Beasley trade (plus Mark Blount and the 23rd pick), this would be our team:
PG: Deron Williams, Ronnie Price, 2nd round draft pick/Jason Hart*
SG: Michael Redd, Kyle Korver, Morris Almond/C.J. Miles*
SF: Ronnie Brewer, Matt Harpring, C.J. Miles
PF: Michael Beasley/Paul Millsap*, Paul Millsap/Mehmet Okur*, Jarron Collins/2nd round draft pick*
C: Mehmet Okur/Michael Beasley*, Mark Blount, Kyrylo Fesenko

That would be a incredibly devastating team. Easily the most talented team in the NBA.

You beat me to the punch pappy - i was also going to point out that Milwaukee is rumored to be shopping Redd and they are hoping to get a top caliber SF in return. Kirilenko plus Almond for Redd works financially and atleast keeps us from adding to the logjam at the 2/3.

Brewer / Harpring
Boozer / Millsap
Okur / Fesenko

With Okur and Redd pulling defenses outside Boozer will be just fine underneath.

I think option #3 is interesting (If Utah was interested). Here is the move I would make:

Trade Matt Harpring.

Here is why:

1. As the season went on and new players emerged (korver, brewer, AK) he became less and less effective offensively. He just doesn't deserve the playing time he was getting.

2. Defensively the guy is a liability (I know, I know, so is everyone on this team, but one less incompetent guy is always better).

3. With promising younger talent, he is not longer needed. With his departure it would open up more time for CJ, Almond, korver.

Everyone wants to trade AK, but realistically with his contract it would be difficult. Also AK provides defense (which this team desperately needs) Harpring is overpaid, but his contract would be easier to move and on another team he could provide some of his "toughness". Trading Harpring would provide the jazz with some room at the sg/sf position to continue to develop CJ and almond.

There's no way the Jazz deal Harpring. Jazz fans can only dream. Harpring will continue to be the centerpiece of our bench rotation until he's 50 or until his knees finally shatter into dust...Whichever comes first.
