Kobe has high praise for Williams

Post#1 » by GP » Tue May 13, 2008 11:09 pm

Utah won two games in Salt Lake City to even the series, in large part because of strong play by point guard Deron Williams. In those two wins Williams averaged 23.5 points and 13 assists.

"He's one of my favorite players in the league," Bryant said. "I love his toughness. I love his competitiveness. I love his skill. I don't throw accolades around too frequently and I really, really love him as a basketball player."

-kobes right...derons going to be a beast..scratch that...dudes already a beast..and the nba is in good hands right now with these superstar guards in cp3, deron and farmar(joking)

those 2 are going to be competing every year, CP3 his first year, Deron his sopohmore year, then CP3 this year, Deron the next probably..

brewer and dwill is a hell of a backcourt...lol brewer was frustrating the hell out of me the first quarter with his quick 10 pts..haha

My apologies if I made a mistake , but from my understanding we were going to trade a certain player and a pick to go after Deron .

So again I do apologize if I made a mistake on my post .
Yet as I posted before If I had to pick between Deron and Chris , I would go after Deron .

I can see why you Utah fans hate Kobe so much. *rolleyes*

Kobe's right, D's a special talent. I was watching the final Laker-Jazz game, and when he got the ball behind the line, I was going nuts. Only because I figured if anybody on the Jazz would beat the Lakers, it'd be him.

I agree with Kobe. Deron Williams is a fantastic franchise cornerstone. He single handedly carried you guys against the Spurs last year and again this year against the Lakers. You guys got yourself one heckuva player in the 2005 draft. He might realistically win an MVP someday before his career is done. Good job.

Thanks guys. I really get sick of people assuming that Chris Paul could just walk into Jerry Sloan's system and do a better job. I mean these guys are the two best PGs in the league, so it's not like the Jazz got a bust with their pick. Williams will probably average over 20ppg and 11 apg next season. I really feel that Williams could probably have a relatively similar impact in NO, and Paul could do the same in Utah.

Anyways, thanks for the praise :-)

Ive never understood why people dislike Kobe. I think he is the best player on both sides of the ball in this league. he is the only player in this league that you cant guard. Like Sloan said the only way you can guard him is if you have the whole team guard and even then he will still score on ya. I for one will root for the Lakers since they beat my Jazz. Kobe used to have a lot of good things to say about our fans until a few years ago when they booed Malone when he came back and I know that pissed him off.

I agree with everything you said except the assertion that Paul could do the same in Utah. Obviously, we'll never know for sure and I wouldn't completely put it past someone so talented and smart. However, Paul's whole game is predicated on dribbling around and creating, which would not fly with Jerry Sloan. It's possible that he could change that if he needed to, but it was obvious from day one that Deron was a much more natural fit for Sloan's system.

D*mn, didn't take long to bring CP3 into this conversation. The guy can't even get praise from another player without his fans bringing up CP3. You guys can't even enjoy him being praised without, once again, bringing up CP3. Even when Williams gets praise, his fans still try to make it about CP3.
