Hornacek leveraging position with Chicago?

According to the wiretap Horny is pushing the Bulls to hire him, which personally doesn't sound like a typical Hornacek thing to do.
Could he be trying to force the Jazz's hand into a coaching job offer sooner? If the Jazz are really interested they need to lock him up, unless they are leaning towards Ty Corbin as the next coach.

This annoyed me:
"Hornacek claims that his meeting with Paxson went well."
Essentially implying that he's lying. "Claims." Why didn't they just use the word "says" like they would in any other article?

Exactly, not to mention odds are that he would be fired by then anyways, coaches just don't stick around in this league. Especially with the high hopes the Bulls will be having with the #1 pick, most people with in the team will think that they should be a contender next year, if they aren't two years from now I doubt Horny would still have a job.

My guess is if he was getting the Bulls job that he would be getting pretty much as high as anyone would be willing to offer him. Sloan makes 6 mil per and is one of the highest paid coaches as it is, and he's been here forever. Horny in Utah would be looking at around 2-4 mill tops, Chicago will give him that in his first year.
