as long as the "flop" is NOT called during the game but rather reviewed after the game by some league office, than im cool with it. if the refs call a "flop" during the game, imagine what would come of that.

As a Utah fan, you should know that.

You're right; we saw the Rockets play 10 times this season, after all.

Battier won't have a single fine next season. I'll bet you $1000.

There's a difference between a flop and a charge. As a Utah fan, you should know that.

Go back and watch game 1 of the Jazz Rockets series when AK faked like he was driving to the basket and took the jumpshot. The funny thing was where was Battier? Laying on the floor having flopped like a fish out of water. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present Rockets homerism!

I just did a Google image search for "Harpring" and ".gif", looking for the clip of Matt flying through the air after not getting hit by Yao.

I failed....a little bit.

The 1st response was a .gif of George W. Bush hugging Mitt Romney. The second response was a little girl, crying after her mother pretended to be injured.

Close enough.

Back on Topic : Why do you think every NBA team's first response to this topic had something to do with "Utah Jazz" or "Jerry Sloan"?

Is it a grand conspiracy? Or is it a logical conclusion?

^^^

This isnt a fine being implemented for clobbering people or stupid use for your hands...if that was a case the Jazz take the cake, but for you to actually try and make a logical argument that Utah flops more then Houston..well...

Welcome back troll from 2 yrs ago, love to see how long you last this time.

I love trolls. "Let's change the subject and see if we can make an argument of something else so I don't look stupid." Admit it, you know Battier is a flopper.

I don't think we even get that many charges called on other teams.

I'll admit that AK flops a bit. Collins has a nice head flop. I don't think really anyone else on the team is worse than average for the league.

I don't think Harpring flops that much either. If you do, that's fine, I don't care to argue teh point, just giving my opinion.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

funny how the first thing i did after i read this was come to this board.
i dont see how AK is not the main topic of this thread. you're talking battier but not AK?!? battier takes charges. scola does flop sometimes but they call so many random phantom fouls on him its pretty much ok.
kirilenko, harpring, ginobili, iverson, most european players, and a few others will be poor soon.

I'm not sure this is a good idea. I hate flopping as much as anyone else, but I think there are bigger problems out there. For one, let's take game 6 of the Spurs/Lakers series. If Barry flops instead of trying to take the shot, the Spurs have a chance of winning the game. Should the refs be fined then for not making an obvious call? Should Barry be fined if he tried to "flop" to show that contact happened? What's considered a flop and what isn't?
And what about the superstar calls? How the **** are you gonna defend a guy like Kobe, Wade or Lebron now? You can't touch them anymore, you can barely breath around them and now if you try to sell (exagerate the contact) an offensive foul to the refs, you get fined, receive a technical or whatever.

I find it funny how you trolls operate. Yes Battier does take a legitimate charge every once in a while, just like a blind squirrel will find an acorn every here and there. But he is a HUGE flopper and its funny that people with user names with Battier in it are coming over here to rip on our players. It would be like me going to the Spurs board and talking about how unefficient Ginobili has been in the playoffs with my user name and all. Anyway I nor are many others defending Harpring and Kirilenko. Don't attack Jazz fans cause we may have 2 or 3 players that flop. Scola will be a flopper that even Vlade would be proud of unless this new rule is truly effective, mark my words.

Wow, you're a terrible troll. You need to work on that.

I was listening to the Herd yesterday on the radio, and he was interviewing Eddie Johnson, and the very first person he mentioned was, of course, Manu. He, and the Spurs, are definitely the first on everyones minds. He never even mentioned the Jazz or any of its players.

As a Rox fan, you of course have a bias against the Jazz, but at least be realistic. There is a reason why the Jazz have the most fouls in the league, they would rather beat the snot out of you than flop, though it happens occasionally.

Sometimes I wish I had the time to troll the Rox board, but it's nice having a life...

EDIT: I just read the gen board thread on this, and the only mention of the Jazz was from a lowly Rox fan, so you have no basis to this statement other than being a terrible terrible troll.

The only flopping they will fine is if it is blatantly obvious. You can't take money out of a guys pocket if he gets hit and he embellishes the call.

It will be the guys who flop like this...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=MTdERYOtqsg

who get fined.

I remember back in one of our finals years when we swept the Lakers. John Stockton drove base line and Shaq shifted to take the charge. John stopped right at Shaq and did a jump shot but Shaq flew back 8-10 feet. Funniest thing I ever saw. No way Stockton could knock Shaq off his feet not alone 8-10 feet backwards and still have the power to shoot the ball. By the way Shaq got the call and the shot was waived off. But it is cool to say I saw Stockton knock Shaq on his butt!! And it wasn't even a slap like the one Shaq gave Tag... :P :P
