I'm fairly sure that the Jazz and Lakers are the best two teams in the West. SA is old and not able to sustain their excellence from game to game (sometimes even half to half), while NO is lacking in depth and still trying to flesh out who they are and what they are about, while being largely too dependent upon CP.

Phoenix and Dallas are in transition, and Houston needs one more guy.

Utah obviously played the Lakers tougher than San Antonio did. There is no question. That doesn't mean anything necessarily, but it does back up and affirm what I (and many others) already thought, namely that Utah is better than the Spurs and the Hornets.

I still don't think the Jazz would have beat the Spurs in SA in the finals this year...
