No... and i think your post in the trade board was sufficient enough to get your point across.

Almond is a dynamic scorer, he can shoot the long ball and has a great post up game against smaller defenders... he just flat out works perfectly in our set offense. Balkman on the other hand does nothing to help us right now, he's a young Harpring w/o the jumper.

Balkman for Harpring? Sure... but we wont trade the D-League MVP for a player that show no skill set to help our team succeed.

Why do people think Almond was the DLeague MVP? I can't believe how some people but into the hype without looking at the numbers.

You are right. The 2007-08 NBADL MVP was Kasib Powell. The 2007-08 All-Star game MVP was Jeremy Richardson. For some reason it didnt sound wrong when I first read it in this thread.

Almond WAS decorated as D-League Impact Player of the Year and set a NBADL single-game scoring record with 53 points not to mention became the only player to hit 50 points in a game twice in the same season.

Look I know he wasn't the MVP... but he SHOULD'VE been. But whatever, Almond right now is pretty much going to stay unless we use him in a package trade this offseason... but at his price and his skill set, we'd be foolish not to hang on to him

Personally, I would do Balkman for Almond in a New York second. Almond hasn't played a single valuable minute for us in his career to this point, while Balkman has at least demonstrated that he can hang in a real competitive NBA setting.

Not to mention, Balkman is the kind of energetic, tough-nosed, defensive, do-whatever-it-takes-to-win kind of player that we need more of. I think he will be a premier defender in the league within the next two years, personally.

So, yes, count me in as an emphatic supporter of this move, fwiw.

I see Balkman as a mix between a young Rodman and Bruce Bowen.

I like what Balkman has to offer, but I feel that he's a bit of a kook off the floor which nobody in the Jazz system would go for and he has a lot of holes in his game that don't really matter when he's playing in New York.

He has a 1:1 assist/TO ratio which isn't very good for a small forward/utility guy who just shouldn't be turning the ball over. He shoots 8% from 3, 8%...

Honestly he isn't proven to be anything in this league right now, and the fact is high energy guys like him can be easily found in the second round.

At least Almond has dominated in a league that he is supposed to be dominating in. It isn't like he was putting up a paltry 15 PPG, the guy was averaging 25.5 in a league better then college, good for second in the entire league.

I love Almonds game, and can't wait to see him in the RMR this year, I expect him to dominate like Millsap did this year, and to bring it into camp next year and have a solid place on this team.

If AK is still on this team I dont see what the point of Balkman is. Almond wont be dealt till we see what happens with CJ. Regardless of whether we have Korver or not we showed that more shooters isnt a bad thing. What did LA kill us at? You had Fisher, "the machine" and others draining from deep.

Unless Almond can get us a banger down low I dont see the point of trading him for another wing player.

I think AK gets dealt in the next yr and the future of the rotation is Almond, Brewer and Miles. Very rarely do we see people get consistent playing time young like we did with Millsap. Whats the point of developing this wing players and then letting them go.

What? Why? He was a volume shooter, who brought virtually nothing else to the table (1 assists for every 12 field goal attempts), playing on a losing team.

What Balkman brings is the ability to play perimeter defense which are sorely in need of. Almond doesn't bring anything we already don't have, and what we have is better. So, I'd do it. The next thing would be cut Harpring loose because Balkman can bring Harpring's intensity along with the athleticism to match.
