I've been seeing quite a bit of positive stuff about SLC over the past few years. I read a great article in The Nation about Rocky and how SLC is a much more culturally diverse place than people give it credit for. It's not surprising that Williams likes it there. I think a lot of people make the silly and unfortunate assumption that every place in Utah are like creepy AZ/UT border towns. It's a shame because from what I've seen, Utah is a beautiful state with a lot to offer. It's not all about strong booze.

Clubs as in dance clubs? They suck if you want to compare it to New York or London. Women are like anywhere. Good looking guys bang good looking women. NBA players aren't as big into clubbing as people think. It's a real big hassle for them.

Most everyone on these boards likes Utah who's been there, why wouldn't Deron?

And yes, have you ever seen a Jazz player at a club? I have multiple times, usually they walk in, get mobbed as they make their way back to the VIP room, and then they show up on the dance floor for a few minutes, and then go back and hide in the VIP room.

I think its great that Deron likes Utah. I spent half my life in SLC (graduate of the U) and it is a great place to live and a nice place to raise your family. I live in Portland now but I consider SLC my second home. I am glad Deron is there to stay for the long run, the Jazz deserve it.

SLC is great!! I love it here. We will see in a few days just how much D Will likes it here. If he commits to a 5 yr deal then, he LOVES it here. If he go's for the 3 yr option you can assume he thinks its ok, and if we aren't winning a championship soon then he is gone.
Lets all hope LHM pulls out that Castanza wallet and pays for a championship before his time is up.

But don't assume that if he signs for 3 or even 4 years that it's because he doesn't like SLC. Deron wants to win so him signing 3 years kind of tells the org not to get stagnant about building around him. And, he'll get to get even more money later. I don't know much about the Jazz organization but I do know that they're normally a good enough team to make the playoffs so I doubt they'll get stagnant. Didn't Wade sign 3 years? I doubt he did it because he dislikes Miami.
